Yesterday 1st  Nov was the warmest November day on record in some parts of UK.  Not in this part though.  It was cold with a heavy mist with fog in the evening.  Today was much the same although a neighbour said the sun came out for a while at midday, I didn't see it though.  One lady from church said it was very thick down in town but when she went home to Canterbury 9 miles away, it changed halfway as she went over a hill and was bright sunshine.   the other side.  Fog and mist is usual for November in this country, which prompted Thomas hood to write this poem.

No sun - no moon!
No morn - no noon -
No dawn - no dusk - no proper time of day.
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member -
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! -

No-vember!

It was like that in London yesterday.  The fog was shown from an aircraft coming into Heathrow and it just looked like a carpet with only the point of one building, The Shard, just penetrating the carpet.
