Ever since I moved to Philly area, I get sooo irritated driving! I am learning the meaning of "road rage"! LOL...

Seems like every time I go out, the roads are full of selfish people. People who won't let you in, people who don't want anyone in front of them...people who run stop signs so they get to be first...people who won't stop for a pedestrian in a parking lot, people who won't allow you to merge onto the highway, lest you slow them down 2 mph....GRRR! We live in such a selfish society, and sometimes its hard to keep on being thoughtful and polite when you know that you often will not get the same treatment back. (Yes I know what the Bible says, I'm just venting LOL)

Today I was only out for an hour--one hour-- and had the "I'm not stopping at this stop sign, otherwise you'll get ahead of me." and the "I'm not stopping for just a stupid pedestrian, get outta my way!" Oh yeah, and in the mall parking lot I had two people blocking the way because they couldn't decide who got to have the parking space that was 25 feet closer than the other open parking space. I was so mad at their lazy rear ends that when I finally got through, I gunned it to one of the farthest parking spaces, got out, and by the time I was in the mall, I actually passed the lady who got the closest parking space. Get out and walk, lazy people! (Actually I've been trying to do that lately, park farther away and get a little extra walking in...)

Okay :verymad: over. Until NEXT time I have to drive.... :roll

The parking space thing bothers me too. And here people will meet on a road one going one direction and the other going the other way and will block up the entire road so they can "catch up".

Yeah well if it came down to a contest as to which area was most redneck, it would be either us or certain parts of Alabama that would win haha. I saw a guy driving down his street with his hood up once...he was leaning out the window so he could see...I guess he was fixing his truck but he still could have put the hood down to drive it a block down the street.

I have a close friend, her husband is about as (Missouri) redneck as they get...he always had this super tall CB radio antenna on his car. We always made fun of him.

Mississippi is pretty bad, too.

Up here, the drivers aren't like that, so much...just extremely selfish. Heaven forbid anyone get in front of them on the road. Or that you pause an extra second at a green light. That, or you get people on cell phones not paying any attention to anything around them.

I hear ya!! I live close to Branson, MO. UGH. The tourists do not know how to drive. They block intersections, get in turn only lanes and at the last minute get in the straight lane so they can get ahead of traffic, they drive 15 mph on a 45 mph road, and there are many more things that they do that are so irritating. I sympathize with you completely when it comes to incompetent drivers. I see them everyday and wanna scream.

No doubt, today's drivers are worse than ever. But I will admit, at Wal-Mart, they're real good about stopping to let you cross going into the store or out of it, but that is about the only place they act nice.

On the highway, no matter what speed one drives someone will come up behind you and get right on your bumper. Many times if you come to a passing zone, they want pass, what they want is for you to speed up and get the ticket and them get by with it.

I'm 61, and I've been driving since I was 14, spent several years driving trucks, I can say drivers are much worse than they once was.

Some peoples personality completely changes when they get behind the steering wheel and they become a vicious and aggressive.

I use to love driving, and going and going and going, but with the way many people have gotten with their driving, I love to stay home.

It's not like that at every Wal-Mart. :wink

When I lived in Sacramento, California, there was a Walmart like right around the corner... and every time I went there it was crazy in the parking lot. I almost got hit several times while driving... so I'd park like way off in the side where all the welfare moms didn't wanna park (cuz they don't wanna exercise or something lol).

Are you sure you aren't talking about the slum areas of Cleveland, OH. Ghettoville, USA.

The problem with drivers is #1 Starbucks Coffee in their veins...like dynomite. #2 In a hurry to go nowhere...and, fast! #3 Cell phones and TXT Messaging. What a society of lunatics. LOL.

Hang in there...OLB members. The Lord is coming for us soon. I hope. :pray

It hasn't always been that way here, they cracked down on them here a long time back, since them its been so much better.

But be careful in the parking lot, they're going every which way when leaving. Ours parking lot is down hill from the store and a unattended shopping cart will take off on its on, them things will damage the side of a car if they hit it. So I always park a good ways back and towards the side unless it happens to be pouring down rain.

But we do have several who park right in front of the door in the fire lane. I wish they would start towing them off, I hate to have to walk around them.

I've been to Sacramento several times, but it was back in the 70's & 80's. I've hauled several loads of Tyson's Chickens to that town, I think it was a Safe Way Warehouse, and I hauled 3 or 4 loads of popcorn to a place out north of town. It was tough getting there on a Monday morning when leaving Arkansas on a Saturday afternoon.

People up there drive crazy. But the craziest drivers were in Houston, TX.
