I have that “Amazing Grace;”

Caring not my Lord was crucified;
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.”
Now my soul doeth say,
“Beulah Land, sweet Beulah land,
As on thy highest mount I stand:”

“This is my story, This is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.”
My “Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Calvary, Calvary…”
“Search  me O God, and know my heart today”
“Day by day, and with each passing moment
Strength I find to meet my trials here;”
Now my soul doeth plead, “Draw me nearer,
Nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where thou hast died;”

“Faith is the victory…that overcomes the world.”
Now “Down in the valley with my Savior I would go”
“Some through the waters,
Some through the flood; some through the fire,
But all through the blood.”  “God leads His dear children along;”
“His grace is greater than all our sins.”
“He hideth my soul in the cleft of the Rock,”
And “He is able to deliver thee.”

“I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today;
I know that He is risen whatever men may say;”

That floods my soul…He touched me

And glory filled my soul. “Lord lift me up,
And let me stand, by faith on heavens table land”
I can truly say, “It is well with my soul”.

I believe this was written in 1971 after the turmoil of the Vietnam war when the Gaithers were expecting a baby.

 

"How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!"

 

That newborn baby is now 42.

 

Our children were born between 1963 & 1973. Our grandchildren are still coming. God knows what he is doing in this evil world, & he blesses us with precious children. We can trust him, because our Jesus lives.
