I have no problem with people wanting to go to Israel, nothing wrong with taking a trip if you can afford it. There is certainly something to be gained from visiting places. The only problem I have is with the way many promote and sell trips to Israel as if it's some sacred journey that all Christian should make and or that one is somehow closer to God in Israel, that the Word is more alive in Israel, that being baptized and rebaptized in the Jordan river has some special significance, etc.

Those who promote and sell the trips to Israel, especially those who claim to be Christian, should promote and sell trips to Israel based upon the real merits, not hype or falsehoods.

I see! I have to admit that I didn't read the whole thread. lol So my post was in direct reply to the OP. lol I completely agree. It would make me "feel" closer to the Lord but it isn't like magic to go there. Right. lol
