This question is for anybody who is familiar with creating documents that need hyperlinks.

I have been tasked to create a newsletter for the library. On this newsletter, the director wants to have links to the library website and different sections of the website, as well as facebook links. It's going to be migrated to a google doc and then sent out via email. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Okay - I figured out how to allow hyperlinks in my document...but I can't figure out how to import the links.....anyone???

Ok, I'll try this again if I lose the window...I quit...

You must have found the "Insert" "Hyperlink"
In the Link to: select "Existing file or web page"
Select the icon for browsing the web and navigate to the site you want.
After you are at the site look at the Insert-Hyperlink window and you'll see your web site filled the "Address" field.
Click the OK button and test your link out.
If you put in the wrong link or need a new one repeat the process and go to another page.

It has been years since I designed web pages but, there was a reason we didn't put hard links in published web pages.
Something to do with changes on one can effect your link if/when a recompile is done.
Anyway since you're the web page master...watch your links for other web page address changes.

Thanks. Everything worked except the link. It won't open...any ideas why or what I need to do?

This is actually for a newsletter that's going to be migrated to google docs and then sent out in an email.

You did hold down the control key when you tried your new embedded link in Publisher? It did work?

Is the link to a document?
If I recall correctly, their is a same folder requirement on the web serever for a form and the linked document.
Maybe, if the link is to a document you need to have these two mapped.

I don't do "Google Docs" so...if there is an issue outside embedding links in Publisher then...Next Techie please.

Hey...I'm an old guy and you're taxing my remaining brain cells.

Heehee...sorry for the brain cell taxing.

Actually, everything was right, but I thought I was doing it wrong. The link won't work unless it is in a browser. So, once I finish, I'll save my document as a pdf and then upload it into Google docs. Then, when I share it, the links will work. At least, that's what the library director told me. I'm almost done, so we'll see for sure in a couple of days. :icon_mrgreen: Thanks so much for your help, Dave!
