Last month numerous customers or our rural water company received unusually high water bills that were more than double the normal water bill.

They had Linda and I down as having used 25,000 gallons, and they claim that 25,000 gallons of water when through our meter. They make the claim that every customer than had this high water bill used the amount of water they were charged for. Yet at the same the they claim that their remote reader unit messed up. Strange thing, the person before and after us, their water meter reading and use was normal.

We have had rural water for about 5 to 8 years, the most we have ever used in 6,000 gallons in one month and that time we had a valve in one of our commodes that did hang, and I replaced it. In fact I replace the valves in our commodes at least 2 times each year for the water we receive has so much trash in it that it messes them up.

Our usual bill is about 39 to 45 dollars each month, the last one was a bit over 125 dollars.

Our church which is on the same rural water its water bill was doubled.

They did go back and with each customer that got this big water bill, charged them what their average water bill had been in the last 12 months.

Do any of you that are on rural water systems ever feel your bills are not fair? Linda and I lived in town for over 2 years, with them we never had a prOBlem with our water bill and it was never unreasonable.

While I am not on a rural system, recently we had trouble with the electric company. It is a long story, and I am honestly still confused. Anyways have you tried to work it out with your water company? If so, here is a website that may help you.

http://www.apscservices.info/complaint.asp

On that website you can look up rules and regulations for your utilities. That page shows you how to file a informal or formal complaint. One thing I don't understand is how these utility companies get away with such a monopoly.

This happened to several people, they adjusted our bills, yet stated, all that water went through those meters. I feel they messed up big time, got major troubles, and are tying to cover it up.

Not long back the head man got fired for stealing, this water association seems to be in a mess.
