Members trc123 Posted May 7, 2010 Members Posted May 7, 2010 From the April 30, 2010 Sword of the Lord....... What is Fundamentalism? It's New Testament Christianity before some man started messing with it. That means Jesus, the twelve apostles, Paul, Timothy and Titus were fundamentalists. They had a core of beliefs called "doctrine." Even in the New Testament era, it was necessary for them to discern truth from error (I John 4:6) and to give out "sound doctrine" (Titus 2:1). Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before the various denominations show up! Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before you start tinkering with doctrines you don't like! Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before you adopt the "anything to get a crowd" pragmatism. Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before you start making value judgments on what parts of the New Testament you can conveniently and silently ignore. Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do before you hook up fellowship with those who have already morphed into something other than fundamentalism. Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do when you have your talk and walk on the same page. Fundamentalism is who you are and what you do when you hold tenaciously and boldly to the authority of the Scriptures. Quote
