Ever since I was saved, I have found traditional Christmas carols (With the exception of Hark the Herald Angels Sing) to be pretty well.. shallow. Consider these two songs compared to most Christmas carols:

Why is that we fundamentalists reject CCM because it uses the Rock and Roll beat, yet we embrace Southern Gospel and other styles that use the same exact Piano Rhythms that were used in Ragtime, Swing and other early genres from the early 1900s. Do a study on the history of the musical genres of Ragtime, Blues, Honkey Tonk, and Boogie Woogie. I really am tired of this hypocrisy, you either must accept all genres as being valid, or you must reject all these other genres that borrow the worlds bar scene rhythms. does 50 years passing by somehow make these genres and styles that were used to promote filth somehow make these now sanctified? after studying and …

Anybody here like Irish music singer John Macnally? He is a good singer of Irish music. He also recorded an album of hymns.

I never knew until last year when it was announced that singer James Thurston Nabors had married his man friend that he was a homosexual. I always assumed that he was a heterosexual since he is a Baptist. But of course since singer James Thurston Nabors is a homosexual than he is not on the membership roll of the Baptist Church he attends. If Nabors does not repent of his homosexuality and embrace Jesus as his Savior and Lord then he will be spending eternity in Hell. I always liked Nabors Easy Listening and Gospel Music songs. I still do. I will not cease listening to Nabors just because he is a pervert.

Since God woke me from my sinful, worldly music obsessed stupor, and now having eyes to see and ears to hear, I cannot believe how stupid and self absorbed it all seems to me now. I used to perform for audiences of thousands and would attend the same of other musicians. I would dance and behave like most others around me. A few people have been re-editing music videos, removing the music from them and adding fitting sound effects. Some of them show just how absolutely ridiculous it all is when the music is taken away. The videos below capture the essence of what I see when I happen to view music related things now.

I haven't watched the Grammy's in over 20 years. I've never really enjoyed watching it; even before I was saved. I finally abandoned and denounced all worldly music 5 years ago when my ears got damaged. I abhor worldly music. However, I wanted to see a bit of what the world is in love with and I decided to look through some of the Youtube videos of this year's Grammy awards. Imagine if hundreds of demons decided to give each other awards and perform for each other, patting themselves, and each other, on their backs for who has introduced more evil into the world. Well, that's what it seemed like I was watching. Some female singer is pregnant, apparently, a…

I was a professional musician for twenty years, and owned a company building musical instruments, until I damaged my ears while working with musical equipment. The music to which I used to listen and that I would write and perform was all ungodly and worldly. Even the "Christian" music that I would write was still worldly in style. When my ears were damaged (permanently, I have been told), I understood the experience as being a rebuke and discipline from God. I closed my business, stopped performing and either sold or threw out every single thing I owned that was musically oriented. One of the effects of the damage has been severe tinnitus; a loud tri-tone of rin…

Heard this "worship song" while watching a video of a local church in my area...there were a couple of verses repeated sporadically, but for the vast majority of the 9 minutes they sang the song, this is what it consisted of... I am a friend of God. I am a friend of Go-ah-od. I am a friend of God; he calls me friend. I am a friend of God. I am a friend of Go-ah-od. I am a friend of God; he calls me friend. I am a friend of God. I am a friend of Go-ah-od. I am a friend of God; he calls me friend. I am a friend of God. I am a friend of Go-ah-od. I am a friend of God; he calls me friend. I am a friend of God. …

I was asked to play at a wedding, "Blessed Assurance" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". No problem, basically major chords. Then at the last minute she asks me to play a song I've never played before, written in F. I hate to play in F. Transposing it to D right now. Pray for me. The wedding is Saturday. http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0100585
