As far as I know, the NRA, TGO (Tennessee Gun Owners), and others are still fighting for ALL of our 2A freedoms. My wife and I are conservative leaning independent moderates and have been so since the middle 1980s when the Republican Party decided to leave a strong, conservative position. With the first Bush Administration came a move towards accepting more liberalism in the party, and the beginning of the move to fall under control of the United Nations and other global organizations, ceding our national sovereignty to others. I make no apologies for where we stand. Not all moderates have been making moves towards liberalism. There is no "Moderate" Party, though some would like people to believe that the Libertarian Party is ours....not hardly. Their platform, though good in some respects is good, but is a disaster in others.

Conservative Evangelical Changes Position on Homosexuality
BrotherTony replied to BrotherTony's topic in Biblical Issues
I agree that the ministers who allow this wicked, heretical doctrine enter into their congregations are leading their people astray and will be held deeply accountable for the condition their flocks when they stand before the Lord. A pastor friend of ours sent his daughter off to Bethany Christian College, and she returned home with a lesbian girlfriend, telling her parents that she was going to marry the other woman. This was three years ago. Now she claims she is non-binary and is involved in all kinds of debauchery. He and I both have a friend who left the church, divorced his wife and married a man he'd been friends with for years. He used to be a layman in the church. When he tried to make us affirm and accept his "marriage" and we wouldn't, he attacked us both with rumors, stalking, and other divisive actions. Many of these kinds of people are becoming more militaristic in their actions towards those who disagree with them. -
Will Christians Still Vote For Trump… ??
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in Current Events / News
The thing that makes your posts overly negative is that you paint with far too wide a brush throwing out statements like "all politicians" sell out... really? Have you any statistics that show 100 percent of the politicians do so? I know MANY who haven't, including my baby sister, my cousin, and several distant relatives who are in politics. Then there are your continued bashings or assumptions of what Trump will or will not do. Every time you post something about Trump you sound like a Pelosi, Schumer, or Biden operative. We all know your opinion of the man. I'm not a fan of Trump's, but he's far better than the alternative. And though my posts in response to your prophecies on what a person or group of people will/will not do contain a direct semi-negative response, it isn't something the a majority of us will post. You have been doing better on this, Eddie. Have a nice day. -
Conservative writer, former university president, and preacher Richard Hayes who wrote a book on the Biblical stand on homosexuality (The Moral Vision of the New Testament) which has been used in many Bible colleges and universities around the world, has changed his views on homosexuality. His son is a co-writer with his father on a new book, "The Widening of God’s Mercy: Sexuality Within the Biblical Story,” released this past September. More information is in the article. This was just one article that I came across this morning on homosexuality and Christians. Out of the 25 stories in the news, 16 were on homosexuality and how Christians are losing the war against it. We, as Christians know that the Bible is against homosexuality and sexual deviancy. It's a shame to see "Christians" falling to public popular opinion on the subject. We need to remain a light in a lost and dying world and be standing against those who fall to heresy. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/conservative-christians-just-lost-their-scholarly-trump-card-on-same-sex-relationships/ar-BB1lhTT8?ocid=chromentpnews&pc=U526&cvid=8a26b0be568a407bb95edf17c9d325a3&ei=14

You're entitled to your opinion. It sometimes seems like you just want to diss anything and everything and one you can. Do you EVER post anything positive? Gay marriage is already legal, no matter how sickening it is. Many Republicans are already in support of this and other whether anyone likes it or not. The party has continued to move left and is no longer worth the support it receives. -

I believe he's finally realizing that it's going to STAY a state's issue, just as it was before Roe v. Wade. Just as with the amendment that brought a nationwide ban on alcohol, a nationwide ban on abortion would lead to massive criminal behavior. Abortion is a terrible, unbiblical practice, but it is only going to be wiped out by a change in the hearts and minds of people as we try to win this nation for the Lord. -
I just watched this movie for the 200th time this past week! Great message and scriptural principles. I've recommended it to all of my nephews. Many have already started implementing these principles with their families!

I wouldn't count you any less a full time pastor if you worked 20 hours a week. Pastors are usually available to their people and others as well, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I believe you to be a good pastor just for the fact of your churches growth since it started, and the souls saved through your ministry there.

It's a fairly common practice, unfortunately. And it's not just for the youth pastors. Churches have been doing it for the senior pastors, and associate pastors. Two IFB churches we were members of here had this happen. Two of the SBC churches have been the victim of the same practices. Personally I find it a very distasteful practice and would find it hard to support the ministry of a church that practiced such a thing.

More and more of your input on politics sounds like you are a leftist plant. Israel has every right to defend themselves from Hamas. And no matter how the left and Christians who have little or no ability to discern whats going on (remember, HAMAS is using it's people as human shields, and most in Gaza fully support HAMAS) and how the MSM, UN, and the Biden Administration Socialist Democrats are turning the narrative against Israel and it's right to try and eradicate the terrorist group, Israel should continue to try and get rid of them and end the war.

Christians with no discernment 😇
BrotherTony replied to TheGloryLand's topic in Church Related Discussions
You consistently post about certain parties catching up with another group but don't back this up with solid, variable statistics. I agree with some of your points on discernment, especially when it comes to those on tithing and the pastors knowledge of who does and doesn't di so. Also on the voting on issues concerning the church. We are members of a church that will change business meetings around when it comes to his not having the votes though a quorum is there. It's happened to us several times in the past seven years. This is one of the many reasons we have been searching for a new church home. Many churches here in the Bible Belt are swaying, sad to say, but there are some that are still standing firm. Some need to be sure that the "discernment" that they're using is of God and not just because of conflicted and confused personal opinions. -
That's far from the only thing you stir. Sad, really.

Nothing wrong with "foot tapping," but there is with consistently trying to stir up controversy about what other churches do or don't do. TBH, Morales, the incessant use of the "halo" emoticon doesn't make you innocent... Remember, even the adversary presents himself as an angel of light. The church we are members of have drums, and they're used on occasion. I would prefer that they not be used, especially in the hymns, but that could very well be because I was raised in a church without drums.

This has been well established in this thread.

In your remarks here you say that you aren't proud of doing anything wrong, but, yet, in the same paragraph you go on to tell us what you've done. that doesn't seem like there's any shame in you over what you've done. Your witness to this "witch doctor" is in total shambles at this point, that is, if you've even tried to share the gospel with him. The earth is INDEED the Lords, and the fullness thereof, yet, the Lord gives clear guidelines on what is sin and what isn't, especially in the case you've given. Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Though we are not under Levitical law, the Bible talks about eating and drinking of blood...this is a practice of pagans. If you're consistently doing something that you know is wrong according to scripture, that is sinning willfully, you'll be held to account on that when you stand before God, as it's trampling on the blood that Christ shed for you on the cross. If you don't have access to a good King James Bible, you can always read it online on several different sites. You truly need to get better acquainted with Him and His word. And again, I ask, if this animosity between the two or three factions in Cameroon is in certain areas of the country, and the government has access to all of these postings online, then I ask again....why are you posting on this site? I would find it hard to believe that they're monitoring your input on a site like OB unless you're somebody of importance that they want to have disappear from the face of the earth. As Disciple mentioned, we're just trying to understand your reasoning and what exactly you're trying to convey. Don't worry about your English, as we're pretty well able to understand you. I AM praying for you, regardless of what you think. By the way, what sectors are you in? Are you in a French-controlled area? If you would rather communicate by DM, you can always feel free to send me a message.

It's not...I was just reflecting on how good it was when the college I attended did it! Always loved it! My ex-fiance used to be in it.

I always loved hearing this at Maranatha Baptist Bible College at Christmas when Dr. Cedarholm and Dr. Weniger were in charge. Miss hearing the students performing it. But, things have changed.

Yes...I've questioned the validity of some of his statements and will continue to do so when they violate not only Scripture but common sense. Going all over the internet posting accusations against people on each site, then saying he would be better off dead, and the myriad of other comments made lead me to believe he's suffering from some mental disorder, or that he's a con-artist. I hate to be so pointed with him, but, I've always been so and am not about to stop.

This is the information I have received from several sources concerning prominent religions. "Religion: Christianity is the predominant religion in Cameroon, divided among roughly 38% Catholics, 26% Protestants and 4% other Christian denominations. 21% of the population practice Islam and 6% some aspects of animist beliefs. Christians are mainly found in the southern and western parts of the country." https://www.alberta.ca/iqas-education-guide-cameroon#:~:text=Religion%3A Christianity is the predominant, western parts of the country I've heard of very few incidents like Kienyui has described. I'm not saying that he's being untruthful, but I am saying what he is saying is suspicious.

My dad's was bright yellow. Nobody in the church we were in had ever seen this wonderful instrument!
-
My late father's favorite hymn. We used to sing it for the church as he played his treholipee! Blessed times and memories!

Do you really believe God has forsaken you? I mean, really...You sound nothing like Christians that I have known in deep trials and tribulations, including several who were in prison in the USSR, and even in the death camps in Germany. The Bible tells us that God will NEVER leave us or forsake us if we're truly saved.

Men stopped being leaders...Women took over
BrotherTony replied to heartstrings's topic in Biblical Issues
Still...the verse posted to you was clear....Women aren't evil, and their intentions may have been good...still, it says that women should not be teaching in a mixed group. Sorry...don't compare their actions with the actions of Christ and his work on the Sabbath. You're truly lacking in your exegesis. -

This attitude is why many of our churches are a mess.
