  1. We can only take his word for it, just as we have to take your word or my word... along with the fruit of our witness for Him.
  2. It is true that God is the creator of our lives. He is the owner of our lives if we are Christians, for we are bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus Christ his Son. And yes, God does use the foolish things of the earth to confound the wise, but, it doesn't give us leave to enter into sin to gain physical comfort. If you're a child of God, it matters very much what you say, do, and intend to do. I would beg to differ when you say you have not had help in any form. This is not the case. There have been some who have set up a "go fund me" account. Whether any money was directed towards you or not is unclear. It seems that you continue to believe it's fine to set aside your faith and to compromise. Yes, God does understand that we are only human, but, the Bible also tells us that we will have times of testing, possibly even to the point of death, but that we are to hold fast in the power of the Holy Spirit. Again, it's NEVER acceptable to God to compromise and do wrong to obtain right. If you are doing what is wrong, there is NO WAY that you are able to "still remember and exalt the most powerful" God. If you're doing wrong you're basically saying that YOU own your life, not God. You can't have it both ways.
  3. I believe you have to go through all of the little links at the top right hand of the article.
  4. I have come across several articles like this lately. It seems the MSM would like to destroy Christianity no matter what it takes. This was one that I skimmed through...Are any of these valid reasons? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/people-no-longer-want-to-go-to-church-and-here-s-17-reasons-why/ss-BB1iYqZQ?ocid=chromentpnews&pc=U526&cvid=497f2ff29f5348cb95d8b0c5a04ec8d8&ei=47
  5. I'm sorry that you are experiencing some very bad things in your life right now. One thing that I am noticing in your postings are a lack of trust in the Lord through all of these things. You've seemed once or twice to have given lip-service, but then have turned around and stated you had gone to a witch doctor and participating in something no true child of God should have done. This isn't pointed out to minimize the circumstances that you are going through, but to bring to light several things...(1) What is your relationship with Jesus Christ? When did you come to know Christ as your Savior? (2) Have you tried to contact any of the Christian missionaries in your area for help or encouragement and guidance? (3) If you are having trouble with the Cambodian authorities concerning your associations in person and online, why do you continue to post on a message board that you know to be American in origin? These are but a few questions your posts bring to mind.
  6. In some circles here they state they're so Independent (big 'I') that they don't associate, congregate, or affiliate with anyone. To them 'Baptist' is a description only, NEVER a denomination. Even some from the old BBF and split off organizations like the one that had the first Bible college that I went to made statements like that though they ALL associated to start and maintain the college and allow the students to have to pay only for housing, meals, books, etc, and have free college. It all flew in the face of their statements. But they couldn't or wouldn't admit that.
  7. It's not a popular opinion here, but, I would have to say that the IFB is a denomination no matter how they would like to dispute this.
  8. What verses specifically in the Douay Rheims state that water washes away our sins just for comparison to the KJV? My uncle has his Douay Rheims and would like to know.
  9. Behold...what is your point? I don't know of anyone here who has a works-based salvation. The people here know that the only way to Heaven is repentance and salvation through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So, Behold, just exactly what are you trying to say? How are you trying to help those who hold to the fundamentals of the faith without addition to escape? Again, we have the Holy Spirit as our teacher.
  10. Wow...you're as pompous as ever in that post, and again pretty much putting the Apostle Paul up on such a pedestal that he's higher than the Holy Spirit...Yes, Paul is important, but he's not all in all, which you seem to have been pushing in most of your posts here. I John 2... 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. John 14: 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. There were gentiles who came to Christ before Paul became an Apostle and received his commission of spreading the gospel to the gentiles. Paul's writings are no more important than any other Apostle's. They all work together to point the way to the gospel of Christ.
  11. Actually it's a description...but, thanks for your OPINION. Has anyone stated anything about this? No. Your pomposity is showing through again. See what? I see a pompous poster who is TRYING to make himself look better than others, and with little success. I'm sure I "learned" this long before you. Again, the pompous attitude isn't welcome here. Has anyone said there were denominations in Heaven? No. Your pomposity is astounding. I've nothing to learn from you. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit...the Heavenly hosts and all who have joined with Christ.
  12. I go to scripture as a whole. Not just to the Pauline Epistles. Remember that... comparing scripture to scripture.
  13. I'm well aware of what was being expected. I've been 100 percent honest. I can't say the same of you. This is the third FALSE accusation directed towards me, and believe me the next one will go much further than just between you and I. That's a promise.
  14. No, I mean they hold to the Baptistic, Christian fundamentals of the faith. Yes, they are most likely members of a Baptist church. Who was his target audience? To whom was he speaking? And why? It's not just an opinion. That is a foregone conclusion considering I am on this site and have been for several years and have TOLD YOU about the forum rules concerning posting only the KJV here. It's an attempt at arrogance on your part, just further proving what I have stated before. Repeating something over and over doesn't really prove your point. I've addressed this previously. If it doesn't dovetail and fit in with the rest of scripture, then the rest of scripture and the doctrine provided within as a whole would be FALSE. We know it's not. Peter preached salvation through Christ and his death, burial, and resurrection. You really need to learn your Bible. And again, NOBODY is preaching another gospel. You have yet to prove that assertion. And, there is not "only" Galatians 1:8. You definitely need a hermeneutics course.
  15. We all as Christians, study Paul's doctrinal instruction, but not to the exclusion of everyone else's writings. This fixation on Paul alone is something I saw in the"Landmarker" churches when I was preaching for them in their churches. I don't reject the teachings of Paul, but don't go into the borderline worship of him either. And again, I need no instruction from you, sir.
  16. Well, I guess comprehension is NOT your strong suit. Thank you for clarifying that for me. Old ploy...care to try again? Apparently you understood nothing. Again, comprehension is a good thing. I'm far from a "baby" Christian, and I have dealt with music for most of my 62 years. I have nowhere intimated that Jesus had to be mentioned in every line. I did however mention that the use of "God" in the song was in the form of common slang among the world. Having written music for many years I am sure I know as much or more about music, lyrics and composition than you. As to your "maturity" as a Christian, if you have to continuously place yourself on a pedestal looking down on others shows you have no humility, and definitely no business telling others anything until you remove that huge log from your own eye. And really, again with the worship of Paul... I have been preaching and teaching since the middle 70s, and 42 years of that in churches across the country.
  17. I had a couple of pastor friends of mine listen to this song. Yes, it's a catchy tune, but, though the song does mention the name of God, to them, and I have to agree with them, it seemed like it was taken somewhat lightly/in vain, and the song had nothing to do with Christianity.
  18. I don't think so... and your condescending attitude towards me and others on this site, including the administrator is wearing. This IS NOT KJV. It's an improvisation. You know the rules of this site, yet you continue to violate them. Yes, we are ALL in the time of the gentiles. Paul was not the only person giving doctrine to the church. It seems that the fact that there were other apostles preaching the Gospel and instructing the church. I'm pretty sure most Christians understand that once they are saved they are a new creation and that God extended this grace to us. You use the terminology "real Baptist." I believe most here ARE "real Baptists." And to the other disciples as well. The only difference was that Paul was sent to the Gentiles. You seem to place far too much emphasis on Paul's ministry. Yes, he did write much of the New Testament, but, he is not the only apostle, nor are his writings alone. ME? Nobody else? Don't you mean "US?" Yes he did say "my gospel." And yet if you look at the Bible as a whole, as it dovetails together, his gospel IS NOT alone. And who is preaching or teaching any other gospel? Certainly not I. Just a final word to you from me. I don't know how others here appreciate being talked down to, and especially when it is done with the haughty spirit you seem to show towards others here. You, sir, are not my teacher, nor my pastor. You've made a "grand entrance" onto this site with what seems to be a mission of telling us that we don't know our Bible, the gospel, and have even seemed to intimate that I am teaching another gospel. You're pompous, arrogant and self-righteous. If you continue to address me in the manner you have been, I will not hesitate to respond. All this being said, I hope you have a nice day.
  19. I am of Paul... just as bad as "I am of Calvin." We don't base our beliefs on Paul, though, yes he does teach us many things. We use the Bible as a whole, and ALL of those who are/have been teaching us in it. Paul is not the only source of doctrine in the Bible.
  20. James 1:27... This description of religion doesn't fit with yours. In a couple of your posts now you've made mention of preaching the doctrines of Paul. Yes, Paul did convey to us what the Holy Spirit wanted him to preach and teach. I've dealt with others who have made mention just as you have, of Paul, and have tried to put religion in a way you have.. I'll take what is written in James over opinion every day. I'll also bring to mind 1 Corinthians 3:4-6. I do the same with those who put Calvin before the Lord. Now, I'm not saying that you are putting Paul before everything, but, it comes close in my honest opinion.
  21. Though the input is good, that doesn't read like any of the KJV Bibles that I have.
  22. King James Version is the Bible used here. If I am not mistaken that is in the forum rules.
  23. Many of us here on this site live with extreme pain levels every day. The Bible tells us that a mans spirit (we have the Holy Spirit within us if we're truly saved) will help to sustain him through lifes circumstances, pain included, if we're walking in the Spirit and His control. I've seen hundreds of Christians dying of cancer and other horrible diseases, living in terrible pain, living victorious Christian lives. Lean on the Lord for your strength and try to help others, taking the focus off of yourself. This isn't in any way trying to invalidate the pain you're in, but will help guide you to a more biblical and positive outlook and outcome.
