I am asking for prayer for my husband to find his faith again, for me to have the strength to keep my love for the lord strong, and for my children not to be to confused by all this.

Thank you.

I will be praying for your husband, yourself, and your children.

I know I am new here so my advise may not be what you are looking for. If you do not want it I appologize for putting it out there...

I was part of an denomination that was very cultish. I learned what they taught and believed it. I fought for thier beliefs. One day someone pointed something out to me that made me question what I thought I knew to be truth. I researched my beliefs and found that they were WRONG! I did not even know what to belief anymore. I did not become an athiest. I knew there had to be a God but who was He? Was it Jesus? I was confused for about a year. My wife fought me. she was furious and yelled at me often. She also grew up with the same cultish mentality I did. Instead of comprimising and researching with me she became even more cultish in her stance. Her constant attacks made me want to be a Christian less. It made me want to fight against Christianity. I eventually came back to Christianity but not to the cult group. Had my wife supported me as her husband and not degraded me I might have came around much quicker. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not degrade him no matter what! He is your husband. Show him love to bring him back. Show him the love of God! Please do not get me wrong. Do not tell me you are happy he is an athiest. Simply tell him you are happy he cares enough to share his bliefs with you. don't push your beliefs on him but ask him nicely (sweet talk him) to let you teach the kids by your beliefs. Since he is an athiest your religion has rules and his does not. I hope this helps and that you do not think I am putting my nose somewhere it does not belong.

Praying for you!!!!!

Excellent advice, Just!! 1 Peter 3 is clear that husbands can be won by their wives' lifestyle (chaste conversation) and their attitudes toward said husbands.

MS - keep in the Word and in prayer...and much prayer for your hubby (at the same time you beseech God to help you be the very best wife you can be!), and for your children. Building on what Just said, make sure your children see your love for your husband. Let them know what a good father he is. Yes, he is going through a rough spot spiritually, but be very careful not to criticize him to your children...that will add to any confusion they might have and can result in a lot of anger and bitterness.

Am praying for you and yours.

Thank you guys.

Any advise is good, and I think yours is very appropriate Just_A_Though. You lived it, kind of. I will take all of it to heart.

The situation with the kids is, No "Brainwashing" them. When they turn 8 and if they want then they can go to church. I pretty much worship in the dark.

I love my husband with all of my heart, as a Christian, Atheist, or even a Buddhist. I would never belittle him in any situation, even though he does it to me if he catches me praying or reading the bible. So I defiantly try not to do these things in front of the children while my husband is home.

Thank you again.
