There are two things politicians like to practice and neither are new concepts.

Deception and Elusion; the two forms of presentation aren?t new to government. It isn?t even new to democracy or; even our own nation?s republic. Both have been practiced since the earliest forms of government were established. The difference today isn't the politician; it?s the people making a difference by actually believing their best interests are cared for.

When this nation was established, people were much more aware of the obvious deceit and subterfuge of government and politicians. The people establishing this nation had just escaped from despotic governments, politicians, and Biblical Christian animosity.

However, today people are long removed from oppression and tyranny. They welcome the same intervention back into their lives with eyes wide shut and mouths wide open.

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere." --Thomas Jefferson to Abigail Adams, 1787

We, as a nation are very similar to Israel and Judah. We won?t recognize the problem until God walks up and hits us over the head with it.

1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

I have an idea, many of us, who are of Christ?s Church, hear God?s word being whispered to us today. However, the time for Jefferson or Elijah?s action is past. This nation has gone through all the prophets and all the valiant men; the wrath of God is all that remains. So, now we have the completed testimony and completed prophesy and are called to do much less than Elijah or Jefferson. We are to go be witnesses but, what restrains us?
