I know the soul winning techniques explained by Pastor Anderson really helped me in my soul winning! Janine S. Url deleted :amen:  Quote
Members Samer Posted December 25, 2006 Members Posted December 25, 2006 Hi Janine, I listened to that sermon. I'm currently attending the church Steve Anderson is from, Regency Baptist in California--small world! Here are some salvation sermons from a couple of my favorite preachers: http://tracts4god.googlepages.com/ParisReidhead-TheRightUseOfTheLaw.mp3 http://tracts4god.googlepages.com/tenshekelsandashirt-ParisReidhead.mp3 http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?currSection=sermonssource&sermonID=2404113234 http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?currSection=sermonssource&sermonID=6190311272 http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?currSection=sermonssource&sermonID=101303162548 I wish Ray Comfort would do Hell's Best-Kept Secret in KJV...It's otherwise a good sermon, but I won't link it. By the way, you can set up a website to automatically link in every post, like if you see under my post, there is a button that says "www" linking to my website. To set that up, visit http://onlinebaptist.com/messageboards/profile.php?mode=editprofile. This will save you having to write in your website after every post. Quote
Members BroJesse Posted December 27, 2006 Members Posted December 27, 2006 Hi Samer, Without malice, I would like to know whether you hold to the Steve Anderson's position and teaching about Jesus going to Hell for 3 days and 3 nights and also about his teachings concerning the timing of the Rapture? The "Resources" page on the baptisthomeschooling website also includes a message concerning his teaching and application of Matt 24 and that Christians will go through the Great Tribulation. Did Jesus burn in Hell for 3 days and nights? What does your pastor teach concerning that since this is what Pastor Steve Anderson believes and he's sent out from your church? Thanks Quote
Members bibletotingunslinger Posted December 27, 2006 Members Posted December 27, 2006 I find in every case, after fervant prayer, and concern, at some point God brings that person to me with a question, at wich time God gives me the words to say, Quote

Members BroJesse Posted December 27, 2006 Members Posted December 27, 2006 BroJesse I think Janie was the one who posted the link to basptisthomeschooling.com Yes, I'm aware of that but it was Samer who said he's attending the sending church that Bro. Anderson comes from. That's why I'm seeking some clarifications from him. Quote
Guest Guest Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I attend the same church as Samer. Believe me, Bro. Anderson did not get his weird doctrines from our pastor! Let's just say....our church isn't too closely associated with Bro. Anderson's church ;) Quote
Members Samer Posted December 27, 2006 Members Posted December 27, 2006 Thanks for your concern. I'm a member of a church in Kansas, and have been at Regency for seven months--about to head back in a week. I absolutely believe Jesus meant what He said when he said "it is finished," and that the thief would be with Him that day in Paradise, and that Jesus went to the heart of the earth (i.e., Hell) to preach and to set the faithful souls free, and not to suffer even more. I look for the blessed hope, and comfort one another with these words. Post-trib sure ain't comfort. :sing: But my biggest disagreement with Anderson is in the area of soteriology and evangelism. He has an article on his website openly advocating easy-believism, and denying that one must repent. (That is why I posted all the links I did, to combat these serious heresies.) Quote
Guest Guest Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Samer and KJB Princess, I'm sorry to hear you are against easy-believism. Repentance is a change of mind about your beliefs. Salvation is by grace through faith. I went to Regency for years and I'm sorry to hear that Regency is going downhill doctrinally. JanineUrl deleted Quote
Members kevinmiller Posted February 24, 2007 Members Posted February 24, 2007 I too am strongly against easy-believism. 1, 2, 3 pray after me doesn't save anyone but, rather, leads to hordes of false assurances. Quote
Members Samer Posted February 24, 2007 Members Posted February 24, 2007 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. (2 Corinthians 7:9-11) Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. (Acts 8:21-23) Repentance is changing one's mind about a lot more than just unbelief. Quote
Members kevinmiller Posted February 24, 2007 Members Posted February 24, 2007 Good verses Samer. I'm reading "Way of the Master" right now and it has been great so far. I can't wait to get to the part where he gets into how to witness using the law. :drool Quote
Members Tim Posted February 24, 2007 Members Posted February 24, 2007 I'm reading it too Kevin, I have had it for a couple of months but I am just now getting around to reading it. Quote
Guest Guest Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Clarification on what easy believism is: I am also against "123 pray after me", but someone can easily get saved after being given a clear and thorough presentation of the gospel using the Word of God. The Bible compares getting saved to taking a drink of water. (See Revelation 22:17) The doctrine that I am opposed to is that one must "repent of their sins" to get saved. Janine Quote
Guest Guest Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Samer, What do mean when you say that He went to hell :loco "to preach and to set the faithful souls free"? Quote
