I did not get "saved again" at an IFB church. For if God truly saves a person then that person is always saved. They cannot lose it to be saved again.

That's what I was saying. Because it sounded like KaiserMac was saying that you had to get saved again because you were saved under Ray Comfort's ministry.

I think Ray Comfort has a fantastic ministry, even if he is liberal on several things.

I agree with ray comfort idea of using the Law to bring sinners to Christ. But I do not use his tracts though. I prefer to use chick tracts like Sin busters, It's the law or Caught to show people that they have broken God's law and need Christ. Plus Chick tracts are KJV only. Also I do not agree with Ray Comfort teaching of never leading any one in the the sinners prayer. :pray Yes I agree that we use the sinners prayer too much and can produce many false converts. But at the same time we must be lead by the Holy Ghost to know when a person is ready to accept Christ. Cause if they ready to accept Christ and we do not pray with them right then. Then they might never get another chance to be saved and die in their sins. Correct me if I am wrong but I heard that in Chicago one time DL Moody preach to a group of people and told them to go home and think about what he preach and if they wanted to accept Christ then come back tomorrow night. But tomorrow night never came for those people as they died in the great Chicago fire. After that Moody vow never to preach again with out giving an alter call. :2cents IMHO While I agree with some of Ray Comfort method of soul winning. We must never become lock into one system of Evangelism like EE, Romans road, or Ray comfort but instead we should be lead by the Holy Ghost. One time the Lord may have you use the Law and the next he may lead you to use the Romans Roads or he may lead you just to use one verse. While I do not agree with every thing Ray believes. I do praise God that he is out there trying to win souls and teach others to do the same.Amen :thumb

Kirk Cameron, in one of his videos, told the man very clearly that before he went to sleep that night that he needed to repent, confess his sins to Christ and call on Him for salvation. If that man was under conviction, he will do that before he goes to bed. If Kirk offered to lead him in the sinner's prayer, he may have said 'yes,' just because it would be easy to do or to gratify Kirk. Leaving it to the person makes it certain that it is sincere. That's why I don't like ever using the sinner's prayer in witnessing.

Why should he have to renounce Ray Comfort in order to be born again? There's no logic here.

I agree, trying to get someone to pray a sinner's prayer can be manipulative. I prefer to have people ask me, or leave them with a tract and maybe a copy of the gospel of John and urge them to pray for salvation if they are serious about accepting Christ.

I like a lot of Ray Comforts teachings. He was one of the pushes that helped my family get away from the easy believism which resulted in our true salvation. But, like any other man, eat the meat, spit out the bones... He has a strong beginning IMO with his use of the law, but I don't like how he ends a lot of his presentations. My dad created his own tract, and uses the 10 commandments in a similar way. (http://restoringthetruth.org/index.php?PAGE=1 you can check out the gospel part here) I also really want his Bible, I love the notes and things from what I've seen, I only wish it was KJV though...

I sorta have to disagree. If DL Moody preached the true gospel, and those folks walked away with their faith in Christ, it doesn't matter that they didn't come back. They would of been saved. Why do we have to pray with them right then, or at all? The Bible doesn't teach that praying a prayer gets you to heaven, repentance and faith do! You can get saved without ever saying a "sinners prayer". I'll even go so far as to say that it might confuse someone to tell them they have to say the sinners prayer. I've met too many people who when you ask them how they know they're going to heaven, tell you its because they "prayed that prayer". Thats a works salvation! Anyways, I'll stop my little rant now, I'm sure you know all of this. Its just something that really breaks my hearts, because I've known so many friends who don't get it, and are trusting the prayer, and are most likely on their way to hell because of it.
