Is that really what I said? IM4given, you seem to want to drag me through the mud here. I am not sure what the issue is. Perhaps I have not clarified myself very well. Perhaps you are missing something.

For the record, I said that while co-habitation is not specifically prohibited in scripture, its a bad idea, on so many levels, and would very easily lead to any number of sins. Also for the record, I never once said that there are no consequences to sin after you are saved.

:roll

I would still like, if you could have a reasonable conversation, to see how Jesus expounded on the marriage ceremony, and how jewish customs are to play a role in the life of a believer. Do you think that a mandatory 1 year engagement is required. Should we still "come in the night" to retrieve our fiance after that year. Should we hold week long marriage ceremonies and have sex in a tent with the whole family around? Should we still bring a dowry? Just how far are you saying these jewish customs still apply?

Maybe I have you confused with someone else? I apologize if my post sounds harsh. Okay I'll bite - instead of me trying to convince you about what the Bible says, why don't you show me where my posts are in error? That might be easier than for me to try to second guess what your motives are at this point? In the past you (at least I think it was you, or maybe it was someone else?) have often accused me of being too legalistic. What do YOU think the Bible says?

Personally I don't think people ought to get married until they are at least 40! By then they might know enough about life to not make all of the stupid mistakes that people seem to make!

Definitely some harsh and uncalled-for stuff here.

Thread locked. I think Madeline knows the right decision here. Abstain from all appearance of evil.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. -Galatians 5:13-16
