The devil tried to get a foothold this morning with a nasty email from a worldly "friend" who attends another church. We rarely see each other and she accused me of not going to church on Sundays (which I do every Sunday), and wrote this mini-sermon. This is what she said:

It ain't about merely going to church. It's about getting plugged in. Church life is to be lived out. The church of the book of Acts didn't survive persecution simply people enjoyed meeting for a couple of hours every week. No! The church survived because they were dedicated to each other. They prayed together, they ate together, and they had all things in common. Now I live from Sunday to Sunday, but I see my church members throughout the week, and you know what, I wouldn't have it any other way. Look, I just want for you to enjoy the happiness that I have found in the body of believers.

This is from a person who smokes pot, talks about sex all the time, lusts, and cusses way to often. :dunno: what to do with her!?!

Love,
Madeline

If it were me, I'd probably just send an email saying:

"Thanks for your concern. Love, Madeline."

Haha. Seriously. What can she say to that?

She probably went to some seminar or read some book. Be nice and tell her nicely that you are in church and serving the Lord and give her some bible :tum

Btw, I'm not doubting that she loves the Lord or enjoys fellowship with other believers. She is in a ministry of her own and has a busy schedule during the week because of this. She mentors another person and smokes pot behind her back and denies doing drugs - not a good example. :roll What bothers me is the nerve of her to preach to me with a HUGE PLANK wedged in her eye.

My suggestion is to shake your head and then delete it. If you don't see her that often and she doesn't seem to know you very well, then it's not worth anything.

You can't do anything for people like that except pray.

I'll pray for her today, and I'm also going to pray for ample coal opportunities as far as your other request.

She keeps sending out emails to me and my church friends and accusing us of not doing the Lord's work (we have our own little ministry). I think that she is jealous and bitter because we separated from her because of her drug habit. Please continue to pray that she realises her hypocrisy, and that she repents from her sinful ways.

Love,
Madeline

I don't think being on OB is considered a ministry, Ron. Nice try! :lol
