I'm the same way re. the organic emphasis. I don't care if chemical fertilizers were used to grow the peanuts, but don't want any unwanted junk in the P-nut butter. I'll put my own good stuff (honey  ) in it.

Speaking of choco-peanut butter treats, try this one:::::::::

#1. Take one 16 oz jar of peanut butter that has been sitting on the shelf long enough for the oil to settle on the top.

#2. Pour that oil off and throw it away. Yep, just throw it away.:lol::lol:

#3. Dig all the "putty" (p-nut butter  ) out of the jar and into a mixing bowl.

#4. Add ~3-3/4oz of honey to the mix and stir it up thoroughly.

#5. Heap that mix together in the bowl into a mound and put back into the fridge again.

#6. After the mix is fully chilled (probably the next day), get it out of the fridge and make little balls about the size of those huge marbles (aka knucklers) we used to play with when we were kids. Put them on a waxed paper lined 9 x 13 aluminum cake pan and then back into the fridge again.

#7. In a saucepan melt a 16 oz bag of choco chips. I prefer Wilbur's chocolate, but that's just me. :Green

#8. Get that cake-pan full of peanut butter "marbles" out of the fridge and one at a time coat them in the melted chocolate, and then back onto the waxed paper.

#9. Put the whole works back into the fridge again to chill.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!! :drool :hungry:

LOL I just like being contrary. I don't like Peter Pan though. They add worse stuff than Crisco!

Peter Pan is really sweet. You might as well just eat Reese's peanut butter cups.

I'll just go straight for the Reese's cups, thanks. :lol

Me too. :thumb Better yet' date=' try that procedure I gave and you may never again want a Reese's.[/quote']

Oh you mean the "poor-man's pb cup"? I've tried a version of that, using natural pb dunked in some Dutch chocolate sprinkles that were brought back to us by my mother-in-law (she's Dutch-Indonesian). Very tasty! :lol

I like those "buckeyes" you get at Cracker Barrel...

 You are right.

After I wrote that procedure I discovered that I re-invented the "wheel". A buckeye by any other name will taste just as sweet. :Green

Hey PE I checked my JIF jar and it says that the oils and stuff are "less than 2%" of the ingredients. :cooldude:

To each his/her own. My husband prefers Jif, but I find it too sweet. I don't like anything to get in the way of the roasted peanut taste, even if it's sugar. If I want sweet I'll add a drizzle of honey. :wink

My favorite peanut butter was what my nanny bought. It was just Giant brand creamy. I don't think they make it anymore but boy was it good. :hungry:
