Life way controversy

Forgive my ignorance, but what happened with life way that has lead to me seeing many comments about its supposed unalignment  with Baptist principles

Lifeway had a president who, against his conditions of employment hired a publisher for his book. He then violated several other conditions of his employment. He ended up being paid over $1 million in a settlement which shouldn't have been paid, and then went on to trash the churches of the SBC and then joined another denomination and continued on with his antics. Lifeway has been on a downward, leftist slide for years.

Thank you for the explanation, I was unaware of this as I left the SBC formally years ago and have slightly limited knowledge of their ongoings, which denomination did he join?
