Why are so many pastors and ministries promoting this when from what I've read and seen this program is far from faithful to Scripture?

I even noticed Love Worth Finding Ministries promoting this program. I can't imagine Pastor Rogers ever doing so. In fact, I can imagine Pastor Rogers speaking out against the unbiblical nature of the program and warning folks to stay away.

They turn the Jewish disciple John into a black man for the sake of being able to fit black characters into the program. Talk about PC trumping biblical and historical reality.

Instead of following the biblical narrative they add in violent rebels for the sake of adding action, violence and bloodshed. Even in this they stretch beyond what may even be plausible in that time.

This is by the same people who brought us the ninja angels and other distortions of Scripture before.

Here is a 3 minute video trailer:

Is James also a black man? Otherwise There might some questions for their mother.......

The series begins here this Sunday on NBC.

While I've not been able to see a scene or photo of all the disciples together, so far I've only seen one black disciple, There is a black family in the movie which seems from what I saw to be John's family, but I don't know in what context. Since I don't plan to waste my time with watching the program, I may never know...and that's okay.

Unfortunately this will probably be a big hit as millions of Americans tune in.

The unbiblical "Killing Jesus" which was on the National Geographic Channel, of all places, garnered the highest number of viewers for a program on that channel ever. The book this program was based on is bad and from what I've read of the program, the program is even worse.

Kind of like that recent "Moses" movie with about the only real biblical thing in the movie being his name.

Even so, millions of Christians, secular and actual, continually flock to these things and any movie even remotely presented as Christian. I remember the last Superman movie was advertised especially to appeal to Christians so many pastors endorsed it and millions of Christian went to watch it.
