Good ministry from the Song of Solomon

On another thread there is something about someone having heard questionable ministry from the Song of Solomon. I guess there are aspects of the book which can be a bit tricky, especially for someone with a ripe imagination.

I thought I would refer to something that can make a good study in the Song of Solomon.

Chapter 1.3 speaks of the beloved being addressed in this way:

'Thy name is as ointment poured forth'.

This can link in with the alabaster box of ointment in the New Testament, the savor of which filled the house where the Lord Jesus was. Also, with the sacrifice of praise, even the fruit of our lips, giving thanks unto His name.

For those who are rightly busy in the service of the Lord, there does need to be time taken to meditate upon His Name and Person.
