I think you can ask the French if Hitler would and could impose a new government on a people. That's what war is. They invade to take over... not to make friends. Roll a tank into a town that has no defense and you'll find that people have to turn city hall over pretty quickly.

For a time perhaps. Plus, France is very different than the Middle East. That would be like someone trying to impose a foreign government in Texas, only the Arabs would prOBably be worse. Either way, I feel sorry for the person who would try.
