  1. Nope! We were in Corydon, Indiana that weekend visiting my biological father whom I had just found again after 10 years.
  2. Those names sound so familiar, but, I don't know why. We're praying for all involved with the passing of this servant of the Lord.
  3. Because biscuits along with cornbread, are staples at dinner time. If those aren't available you might hear someone talking about light bread, which is nothing more than sandwich bread. I didn't realize that you lived so close to us. We live up just outside of Murfreesboro Tennessee. We go to Chattanooga occasionally, and we've got to take I 75 when we go home to Augusta, Georgia.
  4. A modern Baptist church building should look the way the contractor, preacher, deacons, trustees, and congregants agree to design it. Years ago in Augusta, Georgia, the church my wife and I were attending burned down. It was a 100 year old white wood frame building. Lightning hit it one Saturday night during a severe thunderstorm. The congregation rented a local school buildings gymnasium for several months while a new church design and contractor were chosen. We decided that we didn't want another wood framed building, but would prefer a 10,000 sq foot Morton metal building. It gave us far more space and was on a piece of land donated to the church by a millionaire who owned a local telecommunications business and was also a member of the church. It was done in 90 days.
  5. Thanks. Glad you had a safe trip. ?
  6. Our church had a trunk or treat. The church we've been visiting occasionally over the past few months had a Fall Festival a few weeks back.
  7. Morales, what in the name of SAM are you talking about?
  8. Murfreesboro's airport is small, but the one in Shelbyville, just 20 miles or so away is smaller still. It would have been nice to meet you, Brother. We live just outside of Murfreesboro in Bell Buckle. Next time, if possible, let me know. I love Tennessee. I guess it is because I was raised for the first seven years of my life in Southern Indiana where it is very hilly. After that, from the age of seven on I was raised in Illinois which is as flat as a pancake as far as the eye can see. I always hated that. Vivian and I have lived in the Murfreesboro Tennessee area since early 1995 and love it here.
  9. We've had Christmas stuff being displayed here since October 1st. I truly don't understand why they do this. Having worked in retail for many years I find this practice unacceptable. IMHO, I don't believe Christmas decorations should be out until AFTER Halloween at the very earliest, and just a few days before Thanksgiving day at the latest. Thanksgiving deserves it's time in the spotlight as much as any holiday.
  10. Neither "theory," can be proven correct at this time, so it's really not worth expending a whole lot of energy into the subject. It's a secondary issue.
  11. Though freedom of worship is slowly being erroded by the Biden administration. We didn't have those kinds of attempts under Trump.
  12. I believe we're already under judgement for our turning our backs on the Lord. We've gone the way of the ancient Greek and Roman Empires. So, yes, we CAN see the judgement of God upon our country and upon our churches for taking Christ out of his rightful place as the one worthy of worship. He's been replaced by the love of self.
  13. There won't be any uptick in attendance unless Christians get off their duffs and start evangelizing, discipleing, and building the kingdom. I see many Christians making arguments against Israel and for the Palestinians, including four members of my own family. That's what's sad. And to be honest, Morales, you keep stating that we are living in hard or perilous times. If you look back over the history of the world, you will find that nearly ALL of it has been perilous times with just a few short periods of relative peace. The sky is not falling, my brother, and Christ is still on his throne. His Sovereignty is still in tact.
  14. I haven't witnessed any increase in church attendance since the unwarranted and dastardly attacks by the Palestinians. In our area of the country church attendance is much the same as it was before the conflict began.
  15. You're correct, it's not a healthy habit to have. But, in this fast paced society we have, it's pretty much a necessity for many. I know that I did this for thirty some odd years. And it wasn't just at work. With only 20 minutes to eat lunch while in Jr high and highschool, if you wanted to eat in the cafeteria you pretty much had to guzzle your food down or take it with and eat it on the run between classes. Of course, it was a very high stress environment, and I ended up in the hospital with bleeding and peptic ulcers. My wife has 45 minutes for lunch, which she brings from home. If she were to eat in the company break room, it would take 7-10 minutes to get there from the restroom which is a good five minutes from her work station. So, there's 15 minutes of her lunch gone. Then, if she was to eat inside and needed to heat her food, there's usually a 10 minute line for the two microwaves. So, she just walks to the bathroom, then out to the car (five minutes from the bathroom) and eats her sandwich or soup in the car. Many go down to the corner convenience store and buy a hot lunch there and gobble it up on the way back to the parking lot and in the parking lot. Corporate America has very little concern for their workforce, and they truly don't make lunch breaks sacred, often interrupting them, especially if you're a lead person, if they need or want something. I truly believe that the American (Western worlds) form of Capitalism needs a complete overhaul. The greed has run amock.
  16. Don't know why he can't. He's not a convicted felon. If you notice, Morales, he said "shoot," not "kill.."
  17. Is that an allegation you can back up? If not, it's called "bearing false witness." And as it seems, Morales, Trump IS the frontrunner leading the other Republican candidates by double digits. There isn't another candidate running as a Republican that can defeat the machine running the election for Biden.
  18. Care to elaborate? Seems like the shrug in your emoticon shows your lack of discernment in what is going on in this country.
  19. Nothing "sad" about it at all. Your hatred of Trump seems to be right up there with that of Pelosi and Schumer. It's really bad that the Leftist Socialist Democrats feel like they have enough power to try and take away a candidate for the office of President. They're trying to up impede not only his ability to candidate, but also for his defense. Violating 1A rights is a tactic used by Putin, Xi Xinping, Adolf Hitler, and Benito Mussolini. Are you sure you're not a Socialist Democrat operative? I would rather have some crazy Tweets, a good economy, someone who is NOT trying to take away our 2A rights, and a thriving economy than someone who is only elected because they wear the moniker "Christian."
  20. There's no reasonable way to separate the two since Pence was his Veep. I am far from obsessed with the man.I am NOT a Trump fan... NEVER have been and never will be. Using the logic you just used as a veiled jab here, let's add this...some are doing nothing but constantly trying to cause dissention by complaining about everything and everyone. They're obsessed with creating problems where there are none, and they're constantly worried about what OTHER people are doing when those people are far outside their sphere of influence and accountability. Again, haloed emoticons don't excuse these kinds of things.
  21. I'm well aware of whom we are speaking. Just because he wears the moniker "Christian" doesn't mean he would be a good president. He was only a mediocre governor in Indiana. One of the main reasons he was chosen to be VP when Trump was running was to shore up the right wing conservative and Christian voters. Politics makes strange bedfellows. He has very little international clout and wouldn't be much better than what we have now in that area of service.
  22. It wasn't just Christians that didn't give him a chance. Many conservatives don't trust him. As I stated elsewhere in these forums, he wouldn't have been a good choice for an effectual POTUS.
  23. Some of what is in that list happens every or every other year. Some of it hasn't happened.
