Worked on design for SSN-688, SSN-774 class. CVN-67. CVN-68 class, CVN-78 class, various LHA, LPD ships. Mostly piping systems, nuclear and non-nuclear, hydraulic, steam, condensate, oil, etc.
Now I teach basic drafting and AutoCAD. Developing certification courses for Revit, Inventor and Vectorworks. I need to be able to roll out the Revit course in about 4 months, the Inventor course and Vectorworks courses sometime in the 4th q of this year. Also working on a boot-camp type class for 3D printing. I fell into this job and I LOVE every minute of it although I work easily about 70 hours a week right now.

I am the granddaughter, daughter, daughter in law, sister in law, wife and mother of veterans. (WW1, WW2, Japanese Occupation Forces, Korea, Cuban Missile Crisis, VietNam, Desert Storm/Shield, Iraq/Iran)
HOWEVER, I see too much of the need to 'export' American style democracy around the world to places that didn't ask for it, don't want it, and our young people pay the price. My son, who did two tours in Iraq explained it simply...he said "mom, we have no business being over there. Their tribal wars have been going on for hundreds of years and they're just going to keep on going. They don't want nor understand our form of government and wish we'd leave them alone."
The last "just" war, in my mind was WW2. A war that had to be fought to stop a greater evil. Vietnam, there was no exit strategy and was kept going so the war profiteers would continue to make money off it. Iraq/Iran, same sort of thing. Our fighting forces were not given the equipment they needed and people died because of it.
My beautiful son is now 100% disabled, has PTSD, and mentally ill. He has a traumatic brain injury that has totally changed him from the bright, loving, funny young man he was into someone who is dark, hateful, reclusive and so far away. He is 29 years old.
If someone wants to call me unpatriotic, then so be it. I've seen too much carnage from those who fought and died so others could fatten their wallets.
I long for the day when the swords will be beaten into plowshares and man shall learn war no more.

I'm sorry Alan, I reject such a premise entirely.  How can a man rule well (Honor God) if he's a drunkard, an adulterer and a child of the devil?  How can a Christian vote for a child of the devil, it makes no sense to me from the standpoint of the bible.  It makes no sense to vote for someone to represent our nation who serves his father, the devil.

    Thank you Brother Alan...
I've often been accused of being "unpatriotic" because I do not support war. I fail to see how not supporting one equates to not supporting the other. I'm a child of immigrants I appreciate everything the US has meant to my family, the opportunities we have all been afforded. However, I cry at the lives that have been so brutally torn apart. I know far too many...and my heart cries out to God begging him to stop this foolishness. I worked in the defense industry for many years (naval shipbuilding) and saw literally hundreds of fresh faced young men...young men that I knew would return older, harder, damaged.
Maybe I'm just way too cynical....and thank you so much for the full quote from Isaiah...I couldn't remember it all.

They can distinguish other sheep's 'voices' as well. I was watching some ewes eating at a trough one time, just munching away, when suddenly one raised her head, looked toward a bunch of lambs playing together a good distance away and said "baaaaa". Instantly one of the lambs , and only one, made a beeline for her and began nursing. Sounded like "baaa" to me.

Thank you for your comments, testimony, insight, and patriotism.
All of us long for the day when, "And he shall judge among many nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn was any more." Isaiah 2:4
May we pray more earnestly for that day to come soon.

Fueled aircraft (as an enlisted man), in the U.S. Air Force when the Lord saved me and called me. If anybody thinks that fueling aircraft (especially a B-52 bomber), or a combat aircraft in an combat environment (ever seen a fuel truck that was a hit by a rocket/mortar round), is not laborious, than think again.

So then, only Jews can backslide? That is utter nonsense. When we do what they did we backslide. It has nothing to do with replacement theology, it is simply a word we have adopted to describe a specific situation.

Saved41199 got a reaction from Invicta in Christian Identity: Objective or Subjective?
It seems the word "Christian" has become a cultural/sociological descriptor instead of a definition of faith/beliefs. In other words "well, I'm not Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, I celebrate Christmas and go to church on Easter, I must be a Christian". To borrow another metaphor...being in a garage doesn't make you a car.
I know there's a scripture that says something to the effect of "by their fruit you shall know them" and I'm assuming that the fruit is the fruit of the spirit in Galatians. Anyone can SAY they're a Christian...yet we know that the path is hard and the gate is narrow. However, I also believe that for a man to presume to judge another man's heart is going into dangerous territory. Man can attempt to judge based on outward acts, ideas and words...but we do not ever know what's in someone's heart. That's for God to judge.

Saved41199 reacted to HappyChristian in Sound online IFB Preaching?
Since we moved here in June, 2015. When we moved here, God had us at another church (one that was also without a pastor). We believed there was a job for us to do at that church, to help prepare them for the pastor God would send. Sadly, and without going into any sordid details, the former pastor's widow has a lock on anything in that church. In the more than a year that we were at that church, we tried to deal with things (by we, I mean my hubs) scripturally, but it was not welcome. So we had to leave. And the church to which God led us? A closer church, and one that is also without a pastor. It has been about 4 years for this church. The big difference here is that there are several men (the last church had 2, including my hubs). The church that started this one supplies the pulpit at this point. Good messages, thankfully.  My hubs is beginning a series of Sunday night lessons on soulwinning this coming Sunday night. There is presently no outreach, but there is a desire. Now that there is a man who is willing (and able) to take the bull by the horns, as it were, and lead the church in the outreach effort, they are excited. (would appreciate prayer for that)
So the once-in-a-while listening online to sermons preached by our former pastor can be like water to a parched ground...

I know people who will listen to or read any book by any "preacher". They lack discernment. I've long believed that I could write a book on a biblical topic, fill it with nonsense, take some scripture out of context to prove my point, and have a best seller on my hands.
As someone who came out of the liberal, "seeker-friendly" purpose-driven baloney...I've seen it over and over again. I understand that people may be hungry for more of God, but if they fill their bellies full of junk food or out and out poison, what benefit will that have?
I will admit to listening to talks and sermons online...but that is not my "main meal". It's a nice snack here and there. But, if I want to eat a meal, I get up and go to the physical place with my local brothers and sisters to worship and learn. I wish that there were no preachers on TV...hear me out...so that people would be forced into a local body and become a part of that body instead of being a lone ranger, just eating whatever junk food or poison that is coming over the airwaves. Unfortunately too, the most popular TV preachers are the ones who are not teaching properly, like the word of faith preachers that tickle ears and are leading so many through the wide gate straight to hell.

They are all OT references, the lastest NT references say "Put up thy Sword"
Mattt 26:52  Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
John 18:11  Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

That "bunch of invading, murdering, raping thugs." are people for whom Christ died.  Just as were those who murdered HIM. How can they be saved if you murder them?
Acts 3:15  And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
If any christian had the authority to kill anyone it would have been the diciples but instead they preached Jesus to them.
And Jesus did not offer the kingdom to the Jews, in fact when they offered to make Him king He rejected it.
