  1. The greatest miracle today is Salvation where the sinner, dead in sins is raised to life in Christ.
  2. If it was a genuine repentance the repentant would show a change which will be noticed. That is why special meetings and camps where many are "saved" are dangerous. There was a church near here, it was Assemblies of God but changed its name to the ".net Church" They had a "Battle of Bands" event in a local park. This consisted of the church band playing against secular bands. Included in the event was an "I said yes to Jesus" campaign. They passed out cards which said "I said yes to Jesus" they got them to sign it and then told them that they were now a Christian. They then invited them to come to the church for a curry, and no doubt that was the last they saw of them.
  3. Hitler was a catholic. He never won an election the got more votes than any other party but not a majority. The Pope told the Catholic Party to vote Hitler in and then disband. Hitler said he based his SS on the Jesuits. He said that Himler was his Loyola.
  4. The church "fathers" were before the Catholic church. That is why I call them early church writers. The writers believe that the church is the temple and they were correct in that. This was believed by all the non Catholic church until the Catholic futurist teaching spread to th protestants in the early 19th century. They were closer to the Apostolic times than we are and when the all agreed I believe that were probably following teaching handed down and when the disagreed they were probably giving their opinions. The book of Revelation was written to the church. It comforted the saints and martyrs through the catholic tribulation that lasted 100s of years and murdered millions of saints, when they could see that retribution would come upon their persecutors. You will no doubt say I am wrong, but I ask you to prove that Futurism was taught in non catholic churches before 1800.
  5. Thank you. My old church in Whitstable do a seniors lunch every Tuesday, and we have asked my daughter if she can take us over there as we would rather meet people we know and love than just go out. We were in that church for over 28 years until we had to move to live with our daughter as she said she didn't think we were coping on our own.
  6. There is a video of a man on you tube pretending to be homeless and asked for food. For over 2 hours no one spoke to him, the a black woman stopped and spoke to him and said she would be back. Some time later she returned and gave him something, a can't remember if if was cash or food. He said thank you very much I am not really homeless I just wanted to see what it was like and he gave her $1000. Sometime later another person stopped and offered him money and he gave her some as well. I agree that we should not give money. A pastor of mine said people came to the church asking for money. He said he never gave them money, but if they said they wanted he would say, "come home with me and my wife will make you some sandwiches", or if they said that they wanted to buy a train ticket to London, he said "meet me at the station and I will buy you a ticket". They never did.
  7. What are we coming to. The British Prime Minster is a Hindu which is a fire worshipping religion. The Mayor of London and the probable next leader of Scotland are Mulim whose God is the moon. The Welsh leader is an extreme woke socialist. The US president is a member of a "Church" which in the tribulation of the middle ages and later murdered untold millions of true Christians. The whole western world has turn to supporting the LGBTQ etc perverts (I would call them by their real names, LSE., Lesbians, Sodomites, and Eunuchs.) God destroyed Sodom in the time of Abraham, in the law he said that it was an abomination for a man to lie with a man as with a woman, Paul also includes women "for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature" Romans 1:26. And says that they and also those that support them are worthy of death. Jesus gave two indications is when he would return, as in the days of Noah and Lot. Luke 17:26-29. We are almost there. We are doomed. He has given the west over to our lusts. Romans 1:24-26.
  8. It's my birthday tomorrow and my daughter has offered to take my wife and I out to lunch if I would like to choose somewhere. The trouble is, my wife does not eat very much these and doesn't think it worth paying for a full meal when she only eats half of less. One restaurant we have been to a number of times does a good meal at lunch time if you buy two meals in the range, which are slightly smaller portions than normal. My daughter arranged for 10 faily members and friends to go out for a Christmas meal just before Christmas. My wife could only eat about ¼ of hers and asked for a box to take the rest home. The waiter said they couldn't as they didn't have a takeaway licence which was absolutely nonsense. My daughter actually gave him a big tip. I wouldn't have given him anything. The next time we went I was torn between refusing to pay for her lunch if they refused, or take our own boxes. I decided the latter. Most places would offer you something to put it in.
  9. The early Christian writers said it is symbolic of Christians, representing either the complete church or 144,000 Christian virgins. They also said the temple in Revelation represents the church.
  10. After the reformation the Church of England did away with altars and replaced them with a communion table which is what the called it. Archbishop Laud returned the altars, I think it was in the reign of King Charles the first. They also had the 10 commandments the wall. If it is a table why don't you call it so. Calling it an altar makes one think of Catholicism.
  11. They are obviously not saved. We do not accept any in our church who say they are saved but don't show signs of repentance and regeneration.
  12. The trouble with multiple instruments is that churches can bring someone in who is an unbeliever to fill a vacancy. I was in a church once that had a brass band and they had that problem when eventually they brought in a band leader who, if he didn't like a sermon, played the next him very loudly. I have been in the Brethren where they had unaccompanied hymns in the morning service. In our church we have an organ and a man who has been playing for years wh plays the introduction very fast and in the singing it is painfully slow. I once asked him why? and he said they have their own speed of singing. I thought he should be leading not following. We have a relatively new pastor and his eldest son is a good pianist but he has not been well for just over a year and not often well enough to play. He had to give up on his first year at university about this time last year.
  13. Please give your opinion. My answer is NO.
  14. Altars are for sacrifices. Our church doesn't have sacrifices so we don't need an altar. They are for Roman Catholics and fellow travellers.
  15. I don't agree with showing any visual representation of Christ, so I would not wish to see any film like that.
  16. Those verses don't have any relevance to the local church. One body means all the church. Christ only has one body. One bride, one temple all of which mean The church. Jesus said he was building His Church, not his churches. 2 Corr 2:16 "You are the Temple of the living God." One temple.
  17. Matthew 5:23-24 is for the Jewish law and nothing to do with churches. The altar was where the Jews brought their offerings, and nothing to do with altar calls which put pressure on people rather than relying on the call of the Holy Spirit who is the one who chooses a bride for Christ.
  18. Candlesticks are identified as churches in the first chapter. Two being the lowest number of witnesses in the law. It refers to the minimum witness God had during the tribulation under the Roman "church ". Enough to keep a gospel witness in those dark days.
  19. Independent Baptist churches don't have altars. They are for Catholics and similar churches.
  20. I don't know what The Chosen is so I can't comment except to say that as far as I know, our church won't show any films, if that is what it is.
  21. I am having Boeuf Bourguignon today (ready meal)
  22. God uses nations to do what we call dictators to punish other nations, very often the israelites in the OT, There is a YouTube chanel entitled 1420, which goe, s out in Russia asking passers by questions such as what do you think of Putin? the Ukranians? etc. On a question of the What do you think of the West, 3 answered "They are all LGBT" one adding "They have 82 Genders," another said " They are Sodom." One of the two signs of what it would be like when he returned, was, "As in the days of Lot" David Cloud said, when many were campaigning for gay rights, "When homosexuals get rights, everbody else will lose theirs." There is a case in Malta where a man gave his testimony and said when he became a Christian he gave up his gay life, which was published online, he was arrested for promoting "Conversion therapy" which is illegal in that country. They are trying to get that law also in this country. It is not going to get any better, but will certainly get worse. This case was reported on the Christian Concern web site, the man in Malta has his court case on 3rd of this month.
