Members 1Timothy115
Have an especially Merry Christmas and Happy hāligdægs. The root of this word holiday (hāligdæg) is Old English meaning 'Holy Day'. Yes, I understand we Baptists esteem every day as holy. Some esteem one day above another, etc. But, so many words over time have been hijacked by the secular world that I wanted to share this knowledge with my brothers and sisters. I heard about it as I rode to Sunday School this morning while listening to Ravi Zacharias. He also said, in jest, don't tell the atheists or they'll want to ban it. God richly bless you all during these remaining days of 2016 and in the year/s to come.
