I'm about halfway through this book right now on my Kindle.  You can get it for free on Kindle from Amazon.

This gentleman ran a Scriptural Knowledge Institute, held classes for both youth and adults, and operated orphanges which served thousands of England's homeless children throughout it's existence.

He never solicited donations in any way for the works.  He relied solely on God to provide the needs for the work.  If God put it together, God will sustain it without having to call on men for aid.  He practiced this throughout his life.  There were times when sitting down at a dinner table no food was as yet present.  At the right moment, God would deliver.  Children never went without something to eat or having clothes to keep them warm.  This is the testimony of George Müller and his experience with a prayer answering God.  It has deeply impacted me as I am reading it.

Overview

George Müller A German missionary and Christian evangelist (27 September 1805 – 10 March 1898), was the Director of the Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England and cared for 10,024[1] orphans in his life.

This is the story of his life and work written after his death by Arthur T. Pierson.

From the introduction: "No one could have undertaken this work of writing Mr. Müller's life-story without being deeply impressed with the opportunity thus afforded for impressing the most vital truths that concern holy living and holy serving; nor could any one have completed such a work without feeling overawed by the argument which this narrative furnishes for a present, living, prayer-hearing God, and for a possible and practical daily walk with Him and work with Him. It has been a great help in the preparation of this book that the writer has had such frequent converse with Mr. James Wright, who was so long Mr. Müller's associate and knew him so intimately.
So prominent was the word of God as a power in Mr. Müller's life that, in an appendix, we have given peculiar emphasis to the great leading texts of Scripture which inspired and guided his faith and conduct, and, so far as possible, in the order in which such texts became practically influential in his life; and so many wise and invaluable counsels are to be found scattered throughout his journal that some of the most striking and helpful have been selected, which may also be found in the appendix.
This volume has, like the life it sketches, but one aim. It is simply and solely meant to extend, emphasize, and perpetuate George Müller's witness to a prayer-hearing God; to present, as plainly, forcibly, and briefly as is practicable, the outlines of a human history, and an experience of the Lord's leadings and dealings, which furnish a sufficient answer to the question: WHERE IS THE LORD GOD OF ELIJAH?"

I have several books by Müeller.

In one of his books, he tells about how a lady who was in debt donated some money to his orphanage.  He sent the money back to her, even though he could have used it at the orphanage.  His reason for sending it back?  One should not give what does not belong to that one.

Since the lady was in debt, the money she had was not hers to give... it belonged to her debtors.
