God also tells us things like, we're to "love our enemies" so that we will be like Him. Well, if we are to love our enemies, when He hates His, that wouldn't be "like Him" at all would it? If loving the sinner is what WE are told to do, while God doesn't love them Himself....that would kind of make us better than Him in that respect wouldn't it?And I know that's not so.. He also tells us that He "so loved the world.....". I promise you that the word "world, in John 3:16, doesn't mean the sphere of rock that we live on. So, what benefit do these guys hope to accomplish and how are they furthering the Gospel by trying to make it clear to people that "God hates the sinner"?

The book of Jude mentions "wandering stars" which are "reserved to the blackness of darkness". But a "sun" is certainly not in the dark. Asteroids and comets, however, do wander in darkness. I strongly suspect that this is what the Book of Revelation is referring to. Jude 1:13 ..............wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

I have heard "IFB" pastors and preachers say stuff, during sermons, and in front of my kids, that I would not repeat here.

Not if I can help it. Seeing that Calvinism, in effect, blasphemes the very character of God I can't listen to what they say without bias. Maybe I will develop a more gracious attitude about it some day. However, I believe that the teachers of this world do have a measure of wisdom on some things. (Luke 16:8) But on the other hand, I'm still wary of them. I've been told that rat poison, by weight, is mostly good wholesome corn. First of all; isn't "raffling" a form of gambling? Why do that at a Bible believing church. And what message does all this send to the World? (I have nothing against the weapons BTW)

The Bible says a husband and wife are to be "heirs together of the grace of life". A wife is indeed commanded to "submit" to her husband and it's her choice to do so. But the husband is never commanded to "subject" her, ever. Big difference.

It says they are "cast" into the lake of fire so, somebody has to do the casting.

Well, now that you mentioned it, McArthur's false god must hate you and I as well because, we're both still sinners. For that matter, he must hate McArthur as well because he's a sinner too. Yes, God will put (lost)sinners in Hell. But while they're still breathin' there's still hope. Like I posted above, God was ready to annihilate the city of Nineveh. Their death was imminent. But at the same time, God was making sure Jonah arrived to preach to them. If that isn't love I don't know what is.

The Bible says that "God is angry with the wicked every day" and He is ready to judge us for our sin. I'm reminded of the city of Nineveh. God was ready to destroy them and their destruction was imminent. They were about to die and burn in Hell for eternity. But at the same time, God was actively making certain arrangements to get Jonah there to preach to them; and God made sure he got there. When Jonah preached, they then repented. So God repented of the imminent destruction and they were saved from His wrath. God demonstrated His great love, by getting the man of God to Nineveh on time and I'm sure God gave him the words to say. We should not preach "love only" but we shouldn't preach only "hate" either. The Holy Spirit deals with hearts by "sin, righteousness and judgement". We can show them all the sin and judgement we want, but if there's no love in it, it ain't the gospel. Thank God I was shown all three.

I just heard a Calvinist in my Facebook feed, John McArthur, saying that God hates sinners. I've heard and seen this debated many times. Some say God hates the sin but loves the sinner and others say that God hates both and use various scriptures to prove it either way. But what Mr. McArthur says doesn't agree with one thing. Jesus Christ Himself told us that, to be like God, you have to "Love your enemies". So, if someone does something to you, in a really serious way, you are commanded by God to do something that he wouldn't even do Himself? By that logic, you would be taking a higher road than God would. I don't think so. God says his ways are higher than our ways. So God, being perfect, can indeed love his enemies. I, myself, have a tough time trying to do that. You can take all the verses you want which seem to say that "God hates sinners" but you still have to deal with what God says right here........... Matthew 5:43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

It's addressing the church at laodicea as well as addressing "the churches" in general. But I would say, from reading the words "if any man", it could be "any man". Not everyone attending a church is saved, not even all pastors and preachers for that matter. It could be addressing only the saved in the church but it still says "if any man". God deals with the hearts of individuals. And the verse still says "open the door". Only individuals can "open the door" and God isn't going to "blow the door down" against our will like the calvinists are saying. Psalm 24 says.... 6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. How are "seekers" "generated"? They're generated by opening the doors or gates of their hearts to the mighty King of Glory. Psalm 24 calls us "gates" and "everlasting doors". IF WE open the "gate" to our "walled city", the "King of Glory" will come in. He's "strong and mighty in battle" and certainly well able to destroy our gates, or breach our wall, and conquer us; but He's not "laying seige" and forcing his way in: He's asking us to open the gate of our own free will. And he's knocking at our "everlasting door". When you knock at someone's door, you're asking to be invited in. But it's up to the man or lady of the house to let the "guest" in. It's the same principle. And, of course, the "King of Glory" is the Lord Jesus Christ.
