Questioning Faith in Christ Alone (Romans 3:1-20)
Upon hearing that Eternal Salvation is obtained simply by trusting God by Faith alone, many become quick to accuse Apostle Paul of treating the Law and Covenants, and being a Jew, as worthless. Paul is quick to correct this misconception by answering a series of hypothetical and common questions that many ask in attempt refute Faith alone. With answering theses questions Paul shows that Eternal salvation is by faith alone and still hold to the values of the Law, importance of Righteous living and in keeping the covenants by them whom God has given them. Put simply everything God has given retains its value and purpose. Rather, the error is in attempting to obtain or keep eternal salvation in a ways God never ordained.
In this message we also deal with the importance of not erroring in extremes such as trying to obtain Eternal salvation by the law to the opposite extreme of living lawless, simply because laws do not convey eternal life. We show how both extreme false doctrines are not the result of a true saving faith in Christ but rather the result of our own corrupts minds. Saving faith is a result of a heart that fears God's righteous judgements and knowing they are rightly condemned, throws themselves upon God's mercy, having faith that God will redeem by Christ's Sacrifice and restore us to eternal life by His Saving Spirit.
