Many think that salvation began with their faith or that "their" salvation depends on them "continuing in faith" but in this passage of Romans 8, Paul the Apostle reveals salvation begins and continues by God's faith and divine will, showing that God does not begin a work of faith in a person without first also committing to, continuing in and completing thoroughly, that same work of faith. "being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" ~ Philippians 1:6 "which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ~John 1:13 In this message we show the faith of God towards those he foreknew would have a "contrite and humble spirit". For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. ~ Isaiah 57:15 We explain how God's faith, from before the beginning of time to end of time, will save and continue to keep saved all who believe and receive him in faith and that "our faith in time" is the evidence to us that he has begun this work in us and because it is foreknown by God, it cannot be stopped, lost or even given up by us. "according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;" ~Ephesians 1:4-7
