Does anyone else think it doesn't seem right, or perhaps even get irritated when you read pastors and Christian authors discussing Scripture and on the one hand they claim that Scripture is from God, but then as they talk about what is written they say something like, "Paul certainly must have been thinking a lot about the end-times when he wrote that epistle", or "Peter must have known these things from his Jewish background as it clearly influenced his epistle", and such comments?

Sorry for the long sentence!

It seems they are indicating they believe some of the writers personal thoughts, ideas or beliefs are the reason for part of what is written. If the Scriptures are God breathed, this couldn't be so.

Maybe it's just me, but some authors really seem to put forth the notion that at least some of what is written in the Scripture is more human than divine!
