Isn't it interesting how what is considered "dressing up" changes across areas?

Our church just started a Bible Institute, and I showed up in a shirt and tie (which would have been expected at my church in Illinois). However, I was the only student with a tie on, and one of the teachers didn't even wear a tie tonight. :?

My mom visited her aunt and went to church with her. She was surprised to find that her aunt's church no longer used the KJV, the pastor dressed for church in jeans and a hawaiian shirt, and they played CCM before the preaching (if you can call it that!)

Do you think that this might be happening because a number of church growth manuals say that you have to do this to reach people now?
