Administrators HappyChristian Posted February 3, 2014 Administrators Share Posted February 3, 2014 Well, the super bowl is over. I didn't watch it, and really wasn't concerned about who won. But since I'm from Seattle, I'm glad the Hawks won.
Members John81
Did you know Natalie Grant when she lived there? Just funnin'. I happened to see somewhere that she was cheering her home team, the Seahawks. I didn't care who won but it's nice to see the Seahawks get their first Super bowl win. Administrators HappyChristian Posted February 3, 2014 Administrators Share Posted February 3, 2014 Nah - she was born the year before we moved from there. If I did know her, we'd have had some conversations about a few things. One of the reasons (besides my being born there) that I wanted them to win is that my nephew, who lives with my mom, wanted them to lose so badly because Hawks fans were driving him crazy. Members John81
I used a regular bowl. While the Seahawks played very well, they didn't change my life. HappyChristian

It would be so nice if Christians would get as passionate about the gospel as they do about football, and all sports for that matter. Members John81
Christians around the country rearrange their schedules and do whatever they have to so they can watch the Super bowl but won't do the same to attend church. Worse yet, many will forsake attending church so they can watch the game.
Administrators HappyChristian Posted February 4, 2014 Administrators Share Posted February 4, 2014 We enjoyed church that night, and then went out for pizza with friends. A lot more fun and uplifting than a dumb game...(even though it didn't change my life, and I think it's a dumb game, I'm still glad the Hawks won ). Members John81
Anyone else find it annoying that it's getting to be very hard to go somewhere that doesn't have TVs? Both of the nearest Pizza Hut's have several TVs in their eating area. Two of the area McDonald's now have TVs. Several stores either have TVs playing or they have those TV like things that play commercials anytime someone walks by. It used to be all one had to contend with was whatever music was playing in the background but now there are TVs everywhere, even in my favorite DQ! Moderators Salyan Posted February 27, 2014 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2014 23 days since anyone posted in this thread? Seriously?! Re TVs and music in places - in my town we've now got a shopping centre (the kind with a big central parking lot and stores all around that pipes its music outside. Now you can't get away from the noise at all!
Members John81
There are a few places around here that do that too. How annoying to pull into the parking lot and hear their selection of secular music. Worse yet, often it's music I wouldn't have wanted to hear even when I wasn't saved!
