Members John81
Yep, that was my Dad for a few years. We really worried an extra a lot about him during those years. He would still try to work on his own vehicles, try to do his own home maintenence, try to go hunting and fishing, etc. Each time he did this he would suffer and sometimes it would hit him so bad we worried whether he would make it or not and sometimes he would look like death warmed over for several days to a week before he picked back up. My Dad has always, since childhood, been very independent and the kind to do everything himself and not ask for help for anything.
Members Jesuspaiditall4all
No doubt that would be hard for him to handle. May I ask how old your Dad is? He seems so much like my Dad, they could pass for Brothers... :o
Members John81
My Dad will be 67 this year. He worked as a construction laborer until he was 62.
Members Jesuspaiditall4all
Sounds like he had a hard physical labor job. Seems like those outdoor workers are a tough group of folks.
Members John81
He quit school when he was 13 and worked hard physical labor jobs from that day until he was 62. For about 2 years he fed him and Mom by hunting year round when hard times hit the area shortly after they were married.
Members Jesuspaiditall4all
That is so amazing....my Dad also quit school at a young age and went to work for a commercial fishing business. When he was older he obtained his licence and operated his own commercial fishery and to this day still operates his fishing business.
