Members Bakershalfdozen
The IRS extended the tax filing deadline to April 17th this year because the 15th falls on Sunday and the 16th is a holiday in some areas.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16791534/?GT1=8921 Does this affect you? When do you file and how? We usually file ASAP and use TurboTax with e-file.

Members Psalms18_28
I file early through an accountant (who is cheaper than HR BLOCK).

Yes it is extremely easy when you are single or simply have a W-2 to think about. However when you own your own business and have 4 kids - it is nice to find all the little deductions.

That person found more things than I could even think of. The allowable deductions she found paid for her fee more than ten times over, and she wasn't cheap by any means. :D
Members lettheredeemedsayso
When we get our W-2's. Not sure where we will get them done this year.
Members kevinmiller
Not sure. It's my first year filing so my dad has to help me. :?
Members dwayner79
PE, I am hoping this will work out for me as well. I have a family full of accountants, and my BIL has his own relatively large firm (he has a few clients in Lancaster, IIRC). He will be doing ours this year. We bought a house and started a small company, so while I think I know most of the deductions, I will trust him to find all of them : . Members joyfulpraise93
This year I filed the same day I got my W-2s. It was sooo easy although I feel like there are tooo many steps. I wish they could simplify the form.

Members 777
At the very last minute - I chose April 15th - I always have to pay in so this way they won't get their money until the last possible minute. The IRS doesn't EVER pay interest, they just charge it. And taxes coming due in April is really convienent for them, any general election is as far away as possible. Members ~Julie~
We were pretty lazy about it last year even though we were getting a pretty good return-- didnt file until October, but it worked out great cause we had just bought our house and used the refund for expenses during that time. Members hermanj
At the Burger King I used to work at, there was an independent tax advisor who meets all his clients there...and he did our taxes for free. This year, I might ask for his help since I've got a complicated return.
