Members John81
It does indeed depend upon what you are looking for and how much time and work you (the parent) can and will spend on the daily homeschooling. We tried some different approaches, but due to scheduals and the fact we want our children to think for themselves (along with other reasons), we have mostly settled on using Alpha Omega Lifepacs. If you buy the set, you get all you need for one "years worth" of school in the "grade" you choose. Once the child is passed the earliest years, the work is directed to the child, not the parent. In this way, the child reads the directions themselves, examines any new material presented, and then does the work given for that. Unless our children have questions (which is rare) the main thing we do is give tests and grade the tests and daily work. We also get involved in science experiments and listen to them give reports and such along with other things we add or do during the course of the year. Of course, this isn't for everyone, but this is what we are using now.
