Members Flourgirl
With this very hot weather, how cool do you keep your house?
Members sarcrew
My house is way cool - it has six tires and a 454 chevy big block! Oh . . . not what you meant! But since it is an RV and I am in AZ my dinky A/C barely keeps it tolerable - plus I don't run it non stop - can't afford too. Only a fan at night. Members sarcrew
Flour -- that's why I can't wait til I can move to Montana - or at least thereabouts! I live in N. central AZ and it is still too hot for me in the summer! Triple digits are the norm. Wayne

Members kevinmiller
Too hot. We rotate between the air conditioning and open windows. My room is always hot though. Whoever designed the AC for this house messed up somehow with my room... :uuhm:
Members Bakershalfdozen
Everytime I walk by the A/C control, I move it to 75 and every time dh walks by it he moves it to 73. Stacey, you keep yours at 65??? Good grief, girl. I'd be an icicle. :Green
Administrators HappyChristian Posted August 13, 2007 Administrators Share Posted August 13, 2007 Ours is a very powerful window unit, in a very small house. We usually have it on at 70 degrees when we're moving about. If we are reading, we turn it to between 72 and 75, depending on how humid it is outside. We turn it off at night. Members IM4given
I keep my AC set at 80 when I use it. If it is near that outside, then I turn the AC off, open a window and just have the fan on, especially at night. I do not like it being too terribly cold - most public places around here are far too refrigerated for my liking, including our church. In the winter I keep the space heater on up to about 60 when I use it. I have an electric blanket that I use at night, plus I bundle up in my jammies to stay warm. If I am up and about it is just a matter of putting on my shoes and socks and dressing warmly with a sweater.
Members kevinmiller
I like it to be cold when I sleep. If it's too hot, I can't sleep. It has to be cold enough for me to bundle up in my quilt and sheets.
