Sir Winston Churchill The Gathering Storm ? pp. 143-144 The reason I quote this section from Churchill?s book is to show the eerie similarity between 1930?s Germany and what is being advanced for our country. Recently HR 1388 has been getting a great deal of ink. Like much controversial proposed legislation there is uncertainty about what it exactly means. The uncertainty is cooked into the proposed legislation in order to make it look at benign as possible. At its worst HR 1388 is the likely beginning fulfillment of Obama?s campaign statement that America needs a civilian security force equal to the US Military. Members tired Posted March 29, 2009 Members Share Posted March 29, 2009 At first, I thought the people who voted for Obama were ignorant about what Obama believed, and only voted for him cause he was black or that the republicans couldn't put out a good candidate. Now I believe that the majority of people who voted for him are socialists and want gov to handle and take care of everything. I believe God's judgement on the US is in full swing. Clear enough that even those who did vote for Obama primarily because he is black still understood the message and wanted what he offered. That's why even if the Repubs had managed to get Condi Rice to run for president, those who wanted to vote for a black for president would have chosen Obama over Rice because they WANT the socialism he promised. No nation is exempt from the judgement and wrath of God. For far too long "worldy Christians" have believed America was "too Christian" for God to have a real problem with America. Even many actual Christians in America have believed somehow their being here or the luke-warm support America gives Israel would spare America from God's judgement. Not so. God demands obedience and His blessings are conditional. Short of a massive Great Awakening bringing about national repentance America is going to be brought low under the heavy hand of God's righteous judgement. Or, are you saying that God's judgment (based upon some other criteria) is being poured out in the manner of socialism and greater government involvement? God's judgement is on this nation because: Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Socialism, deteriorating economy, and loss of respect for this nation are just some of the milder judgements. I expect far worse from God judging a nation who had every opportunity to freely worship God but, turned their back. Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. Proverbs 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. with the result: Ezekiel 22:31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.
