Egg rolls

I love egg rolls.

I rarely get them but the other day they were on sale at the store and I had a great coupon so I bought some.

What is your fave kind and what with what kind of sauce?


I like the chicken/veggie ones with sweet and sour or duck sauce.

Jack In The Box makes some killer egg rolls. No they aren't like the ones at the Chinese restaurant but.......meh. :lol:

I get them at the Chinese buffet and they have lobster. ( I picked all of the above :drool ).

For the sauces, I picked other, because I like them all. :Green

Ew, I can't stand that hot mustard stuff. :gross: I tried it once and WOW! Too much for me.

I like it - but as I get older I can't eat as much of it as I used to. So just a touch for the flavor. I remember eating it with pork slices and sesame seeds when I was younger. That was my first experience with the hot mustard and I've loved it ever since! But I like egg rolls even if I don't have any mustard! :thumb

Not hot spicy mustard. It's honey mustard I like. :Green

On some salads I want just the tiniest bit of jalapeno pepper, but ALLLLLLLL other times the spices I want are the sweet (aka pickling) spices::: cloves, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, etc.

I'm not crazy about sweet sauces. I do like sweet and sour sometimes, but not too often.

I voted "all of the above" (I like pretty much any kind) but "other" for sauces because I usually just like mine plain, no sauce.

We have a Filipino lady in our church who gave me her recipe for spring rolls. Yum. :clap:

I must admit, I have never heard of egg rolls.

From the comments I guess they are something chinese. Here we Spring Rolls, usually Chicken or Vegetable. In France they have Nems. I like prawn Nems with Chilli sauce.

Egg rolls are pretty much like a larger spring roll with a thicker "skin".

I make mine using left over stir fry and wonton wrappers. Yumminess.

The egg rolls at Aldi's are AWESOME! I buy them every chance I get.
