A Family in Our Church is Really Going Through it...

I would appreciate prayer for the Springgate clan...three of the family are members of our church.

We lost Jim (the fourth one who was a member) this past July after a many-years-battle with cancer. Linda, his wife, has severe back/bone issues and is always in pain but has to do for everyone. Linda's brother Mike (as well as her grandson Steven, who is another member) inherited an eye issue that causes blindness...he has found that he has cancer and UC. Linda and Mike (whose last name is Reynolds, but he lives with her) have a sister named Debbie. She recently underwent surgery to remove an aneurism (her third!). She is still in hospital and not doing well. Her kidneys are not working, she has a pace maker so they are. limited what they can do (it's the older model, so MRIs are not possible). They gave her dialysis last night, so we are hoping her creatinine levels will come down.

She is also experiencing delirium often, and wakes screaming. Linda was at hospital with her for over two weeks and came home this past Sunday to get some rest and work done. The plan was for her to return tomorrow. But this morning her daughter Alicia - who is terminally ill - rolled over in bed and broke her hip. So Alicia is on her way to hospital in Seattle (thankfully it's the same one Deb is in). Linda will be going back to Seattle today.

This family is very special to us, but they most certainly have what seems to be more than their share of issues. This is just a thumbnail of recent events. We would so appreciate prayer...for health, strength, and surrender to the Lord.

Update: they have done dialysis on Debbie 4 times, and she is coming bck to her senses. Alicia had surgery today and things went well. We are praising the Lord and continuing to pray for improvement and recovery for both.
