I think that many Christians can identify with the thoughts expressed here by John Morris and the example of Jesus. Many times those who become Christians are mocked, disbelieved and even made fun of by those who have known them before they were saved.

Though this is no fun for the new Christian, it need not be something that depresses or discourages them. I like to think that our new life in Christ is a valid and powerful testimony to those we have known before our salvation. It can be used of the new Christian as a visible testimony to the life changing power of God. Not that we can intentionally use it, but in and of itself our changed life can testify to our friends and family simply because they can see the difference in our lives.

2Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
