Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted November 19, 2017 Author Administrators Share Posted November 19, 2017 I have not heard anything from or about him either. I did come across a few posts the other day where someone was taking him to task about John putting down IFB's. In those posts he indicated that he was attending a non-denominal church. I know Jerry#s lives in Arkansas. I thought John lived elsewhere. But I'm not sure. (I thought he was actually closer to Indiana, for some reason, based on comments about storms, etc., at times.) I may have crossed John and Jerry up, I've gotten them mixed up before. So, he may not be in AR. HappyChristian

Yes, because there were no IFB churches near them that were correct - I can't remember why, whether it was a version issue or something else. 16 hours ago, OLD fashioned preacher said:  I may have crossed John and Jerry up, I've gotten them mixed up before. Members Ronda
I was wondering if he had inadvertently been blocked? Remember a couple of years back when I had that issue? The anti-spam settings were such that if a person made numerous editing changes to a comment (while typing it, before posting it) OR if a person put 2-3 comments in a row in succession that the spam-filter would think it was spam and block the person? (Or so I was told). The only way I got back in was to contact a fellow OB memver on facebook who put me in touch with sister LuAnne (Happy Christian) to then get in touch with Bro_Matt to fix the issue? Had I not known someone, nor had a way to reach someone here I also would not have been able to get back in. Once blocked by the spam-filters, a person can't even re-apply for new membership, since the computer IP # (or whatever computer signature used) is also blocked. I wonder if that has happened to John81 as well? HappyChristian
Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted November 20, 2017 Author Administrators Share Posted November 20, 2017 Thanks for thinking of this Ronda. I don't think that this is the problem with John since I tried his email address too and didn't get a reply. Ronda
Members swathdiver
John81 played the contrarian often to Jerry Numbers later on. To me too! But more often than not we agreed on the topics of the day. He was a member of a New Testament church that did not call itself Baptist, it was conservative and still used sacred music. He lived in a very rural area and like me was not in very good health. He was very distraught over the conduct of his son. I think he also suffered from severe back pain and as time went on seemed to move away from IFB movement. He may have gone on to eternity. I think he would be in his late 40s early 50s today. I think he was a truck driver at one time too.  There were discussions about his town but mostly about what other churches were in it, 5. No name comes to mind; don't think it was ever mentioned. Ohh, and once he mentioned "going to university" or something like that. This is not normally an American saying but is common with Canadians. There's a John81, a John Jansson in Illinois who works in the trucking industry... In 2005 John posted that he lived in southern Illinois and in another post lamented that it was snowing outside. Oldest child named Michelle, would be about 32 now. 2 younger boys, 20 and 24 maybe now. Relatives in Missouri, ancestor was governor of Nebraska, lives in Central Time Zone in 2006. Wife might be from Texas, he bought her a shirt that said Texas. Oh...... Sad to hear it. I had a lot of time for Jerry, and we had some good discussions. Glad he is now in glory. Sorry for those left behind. wretched

Members swathdiver
I do indeed miss Jerry and John. Both were in terrible pain the last time we spoke, problems with their backs. I think it was the Martingale or Purple Martins that Jerry was fond of watching with his wife. I'll look for him in Glory! *Light*
Members *Light*
I remember them and somewhat recall reading some of their posts when I joined. They were very cordial, friendly, polite, and respectful. Most of us are getting old on this website and some of my family members are not known to live too long. I don't think I'll be around too long, but hey, as Paul said: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." I have absolutely no fear of death as I was pronounced clinically "dead" from Cardiac Arrest a while back. I saw a portal, and beings were escorting me through what looked like a tunnel of light. They were huge orbs... some of them were Silver, and some of them were Gold. They even asked me if I preferred to see them in "human form". I felt a love which I cannot describe in words as I drew nearer to a being that was engulfed in light and translucent at the same time. As I drew closer, I felt like I was going to explode with love. Anyway, I look forward to one day meeting all of my Online Baptist brothers and sisters in the Kingdom one day.
Members Pastorj
Jerry ##'s was an old country preacher. We will see him in Heaven. John81 was one of my favorite people to discuss things with. We were similar in beliefs. *Light*
