Mouse

Every so often, while the computer is idle, the mouse will freeze up (no, it's not too cold!). The only way I have found to restore its function is to unplug the mouse from the back of the tower and plug it back in.

Any idea what is causing this? Any other ways to fix this other than what I've been doing?

Get a new cordless mouse, they are cheap, no wires to mess with and they work.

mine just doesn't work at times.. thanks for the tip Jim I will try that too

Thank you Jim. I've considered that. The main reason I haven't done so is because it's probably getting close to time to buy a new computer. If I decide to keep putting off getting a new computer I will probably pursue the wireless mouse.

The wireless mouse will work on your new computer, John.

I have an old tower on which the mouse freezes and goes to the top left hand corner, and that is a wireless mouse.
