Ian,

I will be praying for you and the family as you have suffered this great loss friend. God be with you and strengthen you mightily.

As John encouraged in his post above, hold on to the hope, and as you posted above, God can do wonderful things in a mans mind at the end, when a man sits in silence.

Your life with David might not be over, except maybe here.

Remember, His word will not return void,

Russ

Thank you for all your prayers & expressions of love & concern.

His widow, Trixie, will be lost without him after 54 years of marriage. Their sons, Richard & Andrew, are very supportive. They live nearby.

About 100 at the funeral - no Gospel - time for remembering loved ones. Began & ended with prayer, & included Psalm 23 & "All things bright & beautiful."

Our elderly Aunts weren't able to be there. Lily - 90ish - is in hospital & could be next. We stayed at the guest room of Aunt Mary's retirement flat & prayed with her & Uncle Ray before coming home. While my mother was alive we were very close, but after she died we didn't have occasions to come together.

Thanks for prayers.

Sept 20th

Now we have heard Aunt Lily has cancer - lumps in stomach & neck. She is mentally alert, & they will treat her with chemo. Please add her to your prayers. When we have spoken of the Gospel, her attitude was typical CofE - Christian by infant baptism & church attendance.

Update:

David's widow, Trixie, had a stroke a few days before Christmas, but recovered enough in a few days to return home. She's OK at home but needs lots of help as she can't get out.

Aunt Lily is now in a hospice.

My wife Ann suffered severe bleeding early December & was diagnosed with womb cancer. We were at the hospital several times a week through December & January, until hysterectomy at the end of January. She has made a good recovery & they think there is a low chance of recurrence, so she is having 4 sessions of radiotherapy. Started yesterday & will end next Thursday.

Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you for this update Ian, my prayers go out to and for Ann, as well as comfort for you. I have a good resource that deals with coping with the side effects of chemo and radiation if you or Ann would like to have it. My late wife wrote this resource and placed it online and it has been a help to many.

Thanks Jim, no side effects yet but the link may be helpful, please.

Bro. Foley,

Thank you for uploading your late wife's cancer webpage, "Help for Becoming a Survivor." I am sure it has been, and will be, a blessing, and a help to those who read it.

You are welcome Alan. Please feel free to pass the link on to anyone who it may benefit. She wrote what she did in the hope that others could benefit from her experience. She also kept an online journal of her experiences so that others might understand that any perceived strength or courage on her part was totally because of her Lord.

You can get to her journal and cancer helps by clicking on the links at the bottom of the page I posted.

Havent been on for years, but have been studying with Jews for Jesus weekly Bible Study which has been wonderful.  Not sure any of your views on that group, but if you are from a Jewish background a great place to be grounded in the word and to learn.

I am a researcher and writer at Watch Unto Prayer which I started 25 years ago. On this website there are many well-documented articles and audio programs by myself and other researchers whose ministry is to expose the endtime apostasy of the Church. Now more than ever Christians need information in order to identify and avoid the various deceptions that are in nearly all the churches.
My husband and I attended the IFB Bible Baptist Church of James Knox a couple of years ago. We left the church after we were informed by the assistant pastor that we were not allowed to express views to other members that do not agree with the views of the pastor and leaders of the church. We were not introducing heresy but expressing our views concerning the State of Israel. We had never been in a church which forbade private conversations on issues where there are diverse opinions. This we recognized as cultlike control of church members. To inform Christians, my husband, who is also a researcher and writer, started a website on the subject: Zionism Exposed: A Watchman Ministry.

Brother Tony, I read your reply on Anderson, I know you all think I'm argumentative but, when you don't agree.....the first thought I had is, I wish you would introduce me to the guy that hasn't sinned, maybe David, that had a man killed so he could commit adultery, yet, he was & is a man after Gods own heart, or maybe Paul the guy that persecuted and had Christians killed, or maybe Richg or Kent H, or even you ! I used to listen to personalities also when I was younger but today and for some time, my only concern is, does it line up with scripture & to me its hilarious that you think "I'm in a fix" LOL, I interpreted what we've discussed perfectly, not because I'm smart, but because with an open mind to things of God, its an easy read.
