The Judgment of Babylon

Zechariah 2:6-7 America is the daughter of Babylon now because this is where 66% of the Jews outside of Israel are located now that the Russian Jews are going home. America will be political Babylon which is destroyed during the great earthquake in Revelation 16:17-19. Mystery Babylon is the apostate church that remains after the rapture of the born again Christians. The fear of the people will give the church power over the politicians till the antichrist takes over in Revelation chapter 17.

I've heard of some that believe in a literal rebuilding of ancient Babylon.  Some would conjecture that the real "mother load" of petroleum is beneath "Babylon" and that it was formed as the burial place of the Garden of Eden.  Technology will lead to this discovery, and oil prices will plummet worldwide as a result.  Of course, all this places the Tribulation in the somewhat distant "future".

"I've heard,"   'Some would.'  'Technology will.'  'oil prices will '

Building your theology on hearsay.

Some would "convolute" the Scripture to make it say that "Babylon" is really the United States.  Pure nonsense.

The teaching of the rebuilding of Babylon was very popular for a time when Saddam Husein was in power and trying to rebuild Babylon. Many prophecy preachers were pointing to Saddam and his attempts to rebuild Babylon as proof of Bible prophecy being fulfilled. Some even predicted a resurrection of a Babylonian Empire under Saddam.

The President Bush the Second decided to do away with Saddam, Iraq fell apart, Babylon was left in the dust, and those prophecy preachers had to come up with some new stories to tell and force into some Bible prophecy of their choosing.

Wow, Eric, can't you see what you are promoting?

Guessing what 'little tiny bits of verses that say very obscure statements' means, is a full time job for you. Don't you have some serious Bible reading to do or what?

Reminds me of the movie "Conspiracy Theory" with Mel Gibson. Taking little bits and pieces of info and creating fictional 'conspiracies', that really are only believed by people wanting something exciting to 'think on'.

Entertainment with no roots in scripture other than 'reading between the lines'.

This is called current news Eschatology, or newspaper Eschatology.

That's very true and it's grown into a very lucrative business for many prophecy preachers and authors.

Yes sir brother John. Even my neighbors are buying books/movies and supplies. Old people are buying Internet download movies, DVDs and books, OLD PEOPLE!!! One of my good neighbors, an elderly woman who never wears pants in daily life, told me "read the newspaper to see its the end of time". I didn't know what to say. The newspaper over the Holy Bible?! She's a very good woman, it has kind of hit me hard that they could get her. Its spreading like wildfire in churches here. I got this the other day.

During any of those times did people need to have ammo boxes stacked on top of boxes to keep living? Did millions of Americans starve to death because they didn't have 7 years of food stored away? If this is the last days, shouldn't I be trying to win more people especially gentiles to Christ?

Amen!:goodpost: Our call is to spread the Gospel, build up others in Christ, teach them to share the Gospel and disciple others.

I know of several who have got caught up in this sort of thing. Including an elderly man I would have thought would know better. He even bought a bunch of John Hagee books and started passing them out to everyone.

Give a couple hundred dollars to a missionary or use the money to drive to an event or other location to share the Gospel or help disciple new believers, or buy a couple more buckets of dried food? Which may count for eternity and what might be burned in the fire.

What will be more important if a doomsday arrives, the state of peoples stomachs or the state of their soul?

We are told constantly that China own trillions of US debt.  But about a week ago there was a news report that said China is trillions in debt. So where is all this cash.  Not the UK, not the EU, they're skint as well, as is Russia.  So where is all the money?  Is all an illusion as I have believed for some years, that there is no money, only debt.

I don't believe America is babylon, thoug I believe it is PART of Babylon. I believe, though admittedly am certainly not sure, that the entire world system under the Antichrist will be babylon. ALL nations under the Beast. And I believe, or suspect, the beast will be a Muslim, showing himself to be the 12th Imam, and the false prophet with the horns like a lamb, will be a counterfeit Jesus Christ. I think this because, it seems that this guy will have to be able to broker a quick peace deal between the muslim world and Israel, so the final, false temple can be built. Islam teaches that the 12th Imam will come as a man of peace and bring peace between all those of the book-the Muslims, the Jews and the 'christians', (though not true christians, obviously). That he will broker the peace deal that results in the temple being built is clear, because the Jews believe that the one who make this possible will be accepted as the expected messiah. And already, peoples' minds and hearts are being inexplicably turned to favor the 'religion of peace', Islam, despite the fact that it is so clear that they are a horrible cult of death and destruction. Also, since it seems the martyrdon of choice will be beheadings, this fits them to a "T" better than anyone else, even throughout history.

But this is, of course, merely my humble opinion.

Havent been on for years, but have been studying with Jews for Jesus weekly Bible Study which has been wonderful.  Not sure any of your views on that group, but if you are from a Jewish background a great place to be grounded in the word and to learn.

I am a researcher and writer at Watch Unto Prayer which I started 25 years ago. On this website there are many well-documented articles and audio programs by myself and other researchers whose ministry is to expose the endtime apostasy of the Church. Now more than ever Christians need information in order to identify and avoid the various deceptions that are in nearly all the churches.
My husband and I attended the IFB Bible Baptist Church of James Knox a couple of years ago. We left the church after we were informed by the assistant pastor that we were not allowed to express views to other members that do not agree with the views of the pastor and leaders of the church. We were not introducing heresy but expressing our views concerning the State of Israel. We had never been in a church which forbade private conversations on issues where there are diverse opinions. This we recognized as cultlike control of church members. To inform Christians, my husband, who is also a researcher and writer, started a website on the subject: Zionism Exposed: A Watchman Ministry.

Brother Tony, I read your reply on Anderson, I know you all think I'm argumentative but, when you don't agree.....the first thought I had is, I wish you would introduce me to the guy that hasn't sinned, maybe David, that had a man killed so he could commit adultery, yet, he was & is a man after Gods own heart, or maybe Paul the guy that persecuted and had Christians killed, or maybe Richg or Kent H, or even you ! I used to listen to personalities also when I was younger but today and for some time, my only concern is, does it line up with scripture & to me its hilarious that you think "I'm in a fix" LOL, I interpreted what we've discussed perfectly, not because I'm smart, but because with an open mind to things of God, its an easy read.
