On a TV prog about how supermarkets treat their suppliers. They showed a training doc from Tesco. not only our largest supermarket chain but also our largest  retailer.  One of the items in the training doc for their buyers was "Somebody else pays,"  One supplier was put out of business because they did not pay him for six months.  A mushroom grower said on the radio that the same chain asked if he could double production.  He agreed and when he had invested in the increased production the insisted on a discount for taking more. He refused and would not supply them again and found other markets.  Dairy farmers and vegetable growers are being put out of business because our supermarkets will not pay them a reasonable  price for their labours.

When I complained to their pharmacy about their supplying my tablets in different packaging each time.  The tabs come in strips for two weeks.  I like them in two rows of seven with the days marked on each.  This shows me at a glance if I have taken it for that day. I tend to forget. Easy enough?  Not so.  I get some like that, but often get them in strips with five on each side and four down the middle and no days marked.  Not good for those who are old and memory failing.  They say they have to accept what their wholesalers send, so it seems they can browbeat the poor farmers but do nothing about the rich drug companies.

Its not a crusade lol.  I was just thinking about it on my way to preach downtown.  I was talking to a person that turned out to be a Judge.  In the middle of a lot of homeless.  I wondered to myself hmm.  This could solve a few problems.  Reduce my tax burden lol.

My Grandfather.  I believe his people were all IFB.  Including my great grandfather Ulysses Grant lol.  First and Middle name.  That's my middle name lol. Not General Grant just named after him.   I've never been in an SBC church believe it or not.  lol.  My grandfather used to say this country is getting more and more socialistic every day.

Here's the problem.  There are way more people without means than with means.  President Obama even recommended mandatory voting to deal with big money.  I don't like politics.  I don't even vote lol.

In an ideal world.  They wouldn't hold back wages.  You just don't do things to the poor and expect God not to hear their cry.  Its not that there is two sides to everything.  There is only one side for me Gods.  What he says in scripture is what I try to live by.  Not always successful at it but I try.  I know most of you do to.  Look at Gods Wisdom there.  Its marvelous to behold. Fallen man has only one hope Jesus Christ.

I'll say it again.  That's not my problem.  It's theirs.  People that practice doing what God said don't do, - practice sin.  There problem is with what God said.  I'm pretty sure He doesn't care if It inconveniences someone or not. It's scripture.

Like I say its a fallen world.  I don't expect much to change in regards to that verse or verses (its said many times).  But its always good to preach it.  Because some will hear and do the right thing.  Or at least know its sin.

? Why would you waste one breath preaching this on the street? Seems a waste to me that a man consecrated enough to regularly preach to strangers would preach sighted subjects to the blind. How would you expect them to understand anything in God's Word before the Gospel?

Considering most homeless don't have jobs the timing of pay wouldn't impact them. Those homeless who do try to pick up some work typically do so on a "day labor" basis where they agree to do some sort of work for a day and they are paid at the end of the day.

Notice Scripture calls us, as individuals and as the church (local church) to help the poor, the needy, widows and orphans. We are not called to bring about social reform, political reform, or corporate reform. Considering American Christians tend to do a poor job of even helping the needy among themselves, let alone those outside the church, perhaps preaching on this point would be of more benefit in helping the needy. Yet this is a message for those already in Christ, not the lost. This is a sermon topic for a church service or other gathering of the saved. Even so, we have to be careful to remember and point that helping the needy is actually secondary to the aim of our help opening their eyes to Christ. Whatever help we give the needy but be done in His name and we should freely share the Gospel as the bread of life is far more important than the bread of wheat that is eaten and passes on.

As has already been pointed out, in street preaching to the lost, they need to hear the Gospel, not how Christians should live.

Hey Wretched,

I have a story first.  There is a man that street preaches an IFB individual.  I handed some tracts two 3 Jewish people outside the Arena where a big named rock band was playing.  The 3 Jewish people were some kind of Union people with a banner protesting the Band there.  No reaction for me and my tract.  However I watched as the IFB individual preached in a loud voice.  He was standing about oh 25 feet from them.  The Jewish man one of them had a look of astonishment as the man preached. Hard to describe I will never forget it though. It was like the gospel penetrated his hard demeanor.

I highly recommend sanderson 1611 on youtube his soulwinning videos.  Some may disagree with some of his other videos lol.   I do disagree with some of them.  Some are controversial but they draw.  Street preachers are interesting in how they do things.

Romans 10:17 - So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1 Corinthians 1:21  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Now I think I understand your question.  Preaching repentance to unsaved people.  A lot of what they do is based on those verses.  They will tell you that.

Me I don't use a bullhorn but more of a one on one talk.  Using tracts and reasoning from scripture.  Preaching not just quite as loud.

Romans 1:16   For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

So I got your attention lol.

when a Quaker girl came up to me by the way.  She said the SBA split from the other Baptist Church's over slavery.  Among other things.   Old as I am I never realized that.  She gave me some history on that.  I wondered.  You've got some pretty good Church's in my opinion.  Holding fast.  All the missionaries you have even in small congregation.  I'm trying to figure out which one of your Church's to go to.  Even before last week.  So my search Is on....

You do realize that IFB church are not SBA?
