I agree...She is moderate enough to not make people too mad, but conservative enough to take some independent votes. Plus Hillary will be "older" by then, and Palin still young and beautiful. Evidently that counts for alot in today's society... :roll

You two could be right...but I was totally unimpressed by her debate performance against Biden. To me, she came off as totally unknowledgeable and inexperienced, dodging the important issues, and changing the subject right and left. (Biden was worse, since he lied repeatedly about his voting record.) I would gladly vote for Palin, but most women, given the choice, would vote for Hillary. (Remember that when Palin was selected, it was the Democratic women who left the Obama ticket in droves. Those women aren't going to vote for Sarah Palin if she's running against Hillary.)

Actually I heard that the women leaving the Obama campaign was not as dramatic as they thought it would be. Many of them decided to stick with their party.

I think part of Palin's plan during the debate was to let her voice be heard without media filter. She only had so much time, so she had to use it. Also it was hard for her because she had to defend McCain. I think if she runs for herself and as herself, she'll be a whole different "animal" if you can use the phrase.

Yeah - remember that she said she was going to answer the questions she wanted to. She was very annoyed at many of the questions put to her by Gibson and Couric. Can't blame her - they were just out to get her.

I think had she actually been debating BO, running for POTUS herself, she would probably have brought up some of the issues people are tiptoeing around, like BO's alliances with William Ayres, Bernadine Dorhn and so forth.

We have to remember that all these debates are set up. They are not fair. They purposefully bring up questions to make Obama look good, and McCain to look bad.

I don't know - some of the questions last night were pretty good. I liked the last one - and how Obama used it as a chance to tug heartstrings about his upbringing...funny thing, though, whenever he talks about the wonderful opportunity he had for his education, he doesn't mention the alliances of those who raised money for him to pay for his Harvard education...

I saw Palin's interview by Chris Wallace after the debate and was very impressed. He asked her about the things she didn't appear to know about and she was very substantive and knew what she was talking about. Too bad neither McCain or Palin showed for the debates.

A vote under duress is not a vote of freedom.

Being pressured to vote for someone who doesn't stand for the Constitution of these United States because he is the "lesser of two evils" or because "a vote against him is a vote for Obama" is something I've come to loathe over the past year.

If I vote for McCain, I vote against the United States Constitution (re: McCain/Feingold). If I vote for Obama I vote against the United States Constitution (re: Anti-Gun stance). Both candidates have demonstrated a disdain for the document that would govern their power.

I refuse ever again to vote in a way that is based on anything other than my convictions based in God's Word and the Constitution of the United States.

I'll digress with a question: Has voting for the lesser of two evils for the last 30 years kept our nation from going socialist/progressive?

When I watched all the coverage of Sarah Palin at first they put her forth as a staunch Christian and solid conservative. As they have put forth actual information about her and as she has spoke more herself, it's become evident she is neither a staunch Christian nor is she a solid conservative. She seems to be just another neo-con.

Has she professed to be born again or given a testimony anywhere? I might have missed this due to the turmoil around here that's sapped so much of my time.

From her own statements she doesn't take solid biblical stands on the issues of homosexuality, abortion or evolution.

I do enjoy listening to her talk, especially when she's feeling comfortable and is really more herself. She's absolutely more fun to listen to than McCain, Obama or Biden!

Actually, it should matter. She has professed to be a Christian. People are looking at her as a Christian.
