How many wars must a people be involved in before they tire of it?  I am not a pacifist.  I believe a nation should defend itself, but that is not what the leaders of this nation have been doing for t

Russia and Ukraine are neighbors with a history longer than we have been a nation. This is really none of our concern any more than it should be Russia's concern if something like this were going on in Canada or Mexico.

Something like 40% of the population in eastern Ukraine are Russians. If the situation were reversed and we were the Russians we would be working to sway things in our favor too. At least the Russians have that excuse. America has no real excuse to be involved in this.

The Russians under Putin are the driving force behind this revolution.  They've also set themselves up as the men on white horses who could ride in and save the day; using all the nice things John said about them to cement their victory.  I would imagine that the American Democrats are also working to throw off the Ukrainian government and either support Putin or maybe their own guy.  History shows they always support the murderous tyrants, not the freedom loving patriots.

Don't forget the history is right.  The Russians murdered half the population before WW2, the Nazis murdered untold millions more during WW2 and then those people were swallowed up behind the Iron Curtain after WW2 where more blood letting continued for decades.  Their taste of freedom didn't even last twenty years.

I think you are absolutely wrong here.  Russia did not want this revolution, they were trying to woo Ukraine away from Europe, offering trade deals, cheap gas and massive loans of which $3 billion had already been paid.

Russia rightly wants to protect her borders from the encroaching EU.  Don't forget that the US is a republic and republics are socialist.

I don't know where this situation will go from here but I fear it will not end well for anyone.  Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria come to mind.

God bless,

Larry

With Chuckee gutting the military even further, I'm afraid we won't have enough troops left to even pass out "meals on wheels".  I doubt we'll send troops into this.

Don't forget that the US is a republic and republics are socialist.

Is that more of Great Britain's government school propaganda?

Ukraine is an important neighbor to Russia, with a very large Russian population. Russia has tried to maintain and build ties with Ukraine. The riots are not fomented by Russia, but news accounts do point to American and other Western agents helping to push such along. As is typical, the rioters aren't righteous freedom lovers as our news declares, (and like they claimed the rioters in Egypt were, the insurgents in Syria, etc.).

This is really none of our business. America used to understand staying out of others business and avoiding others conflicts.

We need to let other nations settle their own affairs and tend to our own. America is so much running the course Rome ran. While internal Rome was deteriorating, Roman leadership continually sent legions to fight other peoples, to interfere in various others internal matters, to try and dictate to the world around them. While Rome seemed strong outwardly because of her military, she rotted from within. All the while allowing herself to be overrun by immigrants from cultures which didn't share Roman values, rules or ways. Once the rot reached a certain point it was easy for the outsiders in their midst to conquer from within.

America has definitely put her paws into the affairs of other nations for years.  People talk about the RCC being Babylon.  I believe it will be "Religious Babylon", but also believe that the USA will be involved.  Maybe an "Economic Babylon?"  The USA is never mentioned in the Bible, yet every other nation on the planet is.  I wonder why?

No sir! It is based on my personal historical studies where I learn that republics are based on Plato's socialist republic.  One thing I noticed is that Plato sought to take the care and education of children from their parents and make it the duty of the state.

I don't know if it has been mentioned (because I can't be bothered reading the whole thread) but I heard that the interim president of the Ukraine is a baptist pastor.

Now with the understanding that there are baptists and then there are baptists...... Anyone know anything about this - and particularly about the bloke himself?

Invicta,

The republic America was formed as wasn't formed as Plato's republic; that's a totally different thing.

However, considering the republic in America was wrenched into something else in less than a hundred years, and has only morphed worse since then, there were not enough safeguards in place for the republic to stand. Or, sinful man is incapable of maintaining a republic as was formed in America.

The only thing I saw about the new interim president is that the church he attends, and perhaps sometimes gives sermons at, is part of the Evangelical Baptist Union Of Ukraine.

I did notice where he calls himself a conservative, has spoke out against homosexuality, and he doesn't drink or smoke.

Some say the references to the eagle refers to the USA.

John answered it better than I could.  Our Constitutional Republic would only stand while moral and just (saved) people were in charge.  No such safeguards were put in place and elements of socialism quickly took root, chipping away a little each day so gradually most people haven't a clue what they've allowed to happen and what's been lost, let alone the cost in fortune and lives.

That Baptist Preacher is now in charge:

I thought that, at one time, too swath.  However, the eagle is also a representative of Rome.

I wouldn't put much faith in the new Baptist leader in the Ukraine.  He is the typical one world ecumenical church leader of today.

His history shows his proclivity for politics and his work for socialist causes and politicians more than his spreading the Gospel of Christ.

If you expect good to come from his leadership, I am afraid you will be sorely disappointed.

God bless,

I know some people working for the Lord in eastern Europe/the '-stans and they tell me that in general the baptist union churches are a domineering group that rule over and control the people.

Doesn't sound very biblical to me.

A couple of days ago this news came out and I didn't post it because I wanted to wait and see if it was accurate or not.  I think it has been proven accurate and I am now posting it, though it is old news now.

U.S. and E.U. money has been pumped into this operation to overthrow the government in the Ukraine.  I wonder how much of our money was used to pay these murderous snipers.  Our tax dollars at work?

The U.S. will be judged eventually for it's actions.  There are enough biblical examples to assure that it will happen some day.

People in the US seem to be ignoring what is going on around the borders of Russia.  They think the demonstrations and riots in the Ukraine are no big deal (just another riot).  What is really going on?

What can we do? We aren't going to war with Russia over the Ukraine.

I think Pilgrim's point is that America and the EU fomented (paid for and stirred up) the riots against a lawfully elected government. They wanted the Ukrainian government to be brought down with the hopes of a pro-EU government taking its place.

As is typical, America (and the EU) miscalculated the effects of what they put into motion and now we have the situation as it is.

If a similar situation that Russia is facing on their own border, with many of their own people, with their only warm water port, were facing America would America not take actions similar to what Russia is doing?

America would be best to stay out of it, and should not have been involved as it was.

This is the rumor, bro, but who knows if this is true.

I agree totally with your last statement.

I did not wish to post this video but I feel it is necessary to establish who is telling the truth about the Maidan snipers.  It clearly shows that the Maidan protesters who were shot by snipers were shot by supposed friends.  It shows protestors being shot in the back with shots being fired from the rear.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5dc_1393953567

If the only news a person has seen has been from the western press and commentators I can see where it will be hard for them to see the truth of what is happening in the Ukraine.  This whole fiasco is about who will control the pipelines and natural gas from the Ukraine and the encirclement of Russia militarily.  The stakes are high for the E.U. as well as for Russia.

God bless,

Larry

Now it is time for me to step out of my shell and let go... I AM STRICT KJV!... In scripture God said he would preserve his word... Well did he or didn't he?... If there is every translation under the sun, then he didn't but I KNOW HE DID!... The preserved word of God called the KJV is for the English people has been around for over 400 years and what is interesting to me, is the KJV was translated in 1611 and the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock in 1620... Coincidence?... A new book the preserved KJV word of God for the New World... So take that you KJV naysayers... I have been reading, studying and digging through the KJV for over 50 years... My belief is 100% Christ and scripture says so... Glad to be here and its time to take these shackles off!
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Praise God I found such a powerhouse of the outpouring of His Spirit and unapologetic in regards of the defense of the KJV Bible. When I became a Christian back in 1984, I was told to get & read the KJV. It's been my choice all these years.
