They won't come right out for gun confiscation of everyone. If they did, they would face mass resistance.

They will continue to ban more guns, restict certain ammo, and work to include more people in the category of being denied the right to own a gun.

If and when they do decide to make gun confiscation raids, they will likely be limited at first and the government and media will put forth cover stories of raiding these people for other reasons (they are white supremacists; suspected terrorists; drug dealers; involved in some form of child endangerment...one of their favorite covers; etc.).

The government will first work to eliminate those they suspect may put up some organized resistance. This is why they targetted militia groups some years back. Sure, there were a few nuts in the woodwork, but the bulk of what the government did was based upon trumped up charges and entrapment.

People have, Marcus. People have. During Clinton's terms, congress pushed some gun control laws, and a great amount of those who voted in favor lost their seats at the next election. And the Dems admitted it was because of that. People continue to fight the laws getting passed, but when the same politicians keep getting in (just how did Murtha get back in, anyway?), they push the laws they want to. And people who try to point out their records and their goals are called liars and accused of spreading rumors or fearmongering.

Good question!

The thing is, most people (including Christians) take their freedoms for granted. When they first began restricting gun rights they were done in such a way that it didn't effect most people so most people didn't care. Of course this opened the door for further restrictions and we are at the place we are today with the door wide open for even further restrictions and the groundwork set for the elimination of the right to own guns.

Most professing Christians are unwilling to learn what the Bible says and to actually live by it, let alone learn what the Constitution says and hold our government accountable to it.

2nd amendment rights were for a musket not for the weapondry out there today.



Please note the preamble to the Constitution:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.


The founders had their posterity - us - in mind when the Constitution was written. All ten of those amendments were put in there to protect the citizens of this country from a government that could run amok. The second amendment has rightly been called the teeth of the Bill of Rights, because it is what puts the bite into all of them. Without it, all of our other rights become granted by government...and we know how generous government is with rights...

Our forefathers intended that Americans would be able to protect themselves. From any threat. And they made it clear that a people who have their arms taken from them is a people who are enslaved.

Those founders were very brilliant men (oh, that we could have some George Washingtons today!!!!). They were smart enough to know that weaponry changes. They were all well versed in history. And they knew of the weaponry changes through the years. That is why they said "arms." If they intended it to just be muskets, that's what they would have said.

I personally believe that they would be horrified at all of the gun control laws - and how those laws actually help the criminals and hurt the victims and the law abiding citizens.

Give up my weaponry? Nope. Self-defense is Biblical. The government has no Biblical grounds to confiscate my weapons.
