Yes, and then this criminal was held up as a hero and those rioters, looters and attempted murderers were held up as "righteously angry" people just trying to express their outrage and demand justice. Then after they burned up their neighborhoods and destroyed the local economy, the government came in and handed them checks, benefits and special deals so the place could be rebuilt.

Someone standing outside, with a tommy gun, picking off the thieves as they were leaving would have taught them a lesson such behavior as breaking into stores & looting them would not be tolerated & that would end the breaking in & looting of stores.

But if you make heroes out of rioters, murders, & people destroying the property of others, you just much more of the same, that is you encourage that behavior.
