Members JerryNumbers
Coaches and players violently attack youth football referee So sad, now a days if they don't like the call, they attack the referees, even coaches join in. Moderators Salyan Posted September 2, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2011 All those players and their coaches should be banned from ever participating in the game again. The poor ref!
Members JerryNumbers
Yes, I agree. Yet in many sporting events there is little sportsmanship shown. I've noticed its quite common if those attending a sporting event thinks the referee makes a mistake in a call against their favorite team they will boo the referee. In the past I have asked those that do this, 'Don't you feel your setting a bad example for the children?' The answer was always no.
Members pep_3000
The whole thing is a disgrace. The people who attacked the ref should get serious jail time for this. I heard that in Florida attacking a ref is a felony (and it should be, they are in a vulnerable situation). Yes, I agree. Yet in many sporting events there is little sportsmanship shown. Sports Illustrated published a study that showed that reason for home court (field, diamond, ice, ect) advantage is the crowd's psychological influence on the officials. Members JerryNumbers
Yes, its nice, the parents teach the children to respect the referees & the calls they make during the game, yet when the parents are watching a game, they boo the referee if they disagree with the call. Some of them that boo the referees are quite mad, & if they got their hands on the referee at that moment he would not be safe. And at times they have to have protection leaving the field. So sad. Members Wilchbla
Imagine if the ref was black and the coaches and players white. Obama would be holding a press conference right now about it.
